The dark mode of WhatsApp is updated with two new features very useful: here’s what it is
The work of the developers of WhatsApp continues undaunted to make available to all the dark mode: the feature has been released by now a couple of weeks only to Android users enrolled in the beta program. For the moment, no major bugs have been reported, a sign that the development has been optimal and that the function could arrive very soon on the stable channel.
In addition, with the latest update released for WhatsApp beta (version number 2.20.31) have been introduced two new features that go to enrich the dark mode. These are not tools that revolutionize the application, but simply two improvements made necessary to harmonize the app. We’re talking about a small change in the settings that makes the choice of Theme clearer when setting the dark mode and new Material Design backgrounds that can be set with the dark mode.
WhatsApp, what changes with version 2.20.31
In version 2.20.31 of WhatsApp beta for Android there are two small novelties for the dark mode. The first concerns a name change in the menu where you activate the feature. Previously, those who pressed on the Theme item found three items: Energy Saver, Light, Dark. The first item has been replaced with Default. What does this mean? Very simple: if we have set the default dark theme on the smartphone, WhatsApp will also adapt.
The other change concerns the addition of new Material Design style backgrounds that can be used to customize the chat. Among the various shades there is one that is completely black, ideal for dark mode and saving battery.
When will WhatsApp’s dark mode be available
A question that is hard to answer. The dark mode could arrive on WhatsApp at any moment, even tomorrow morning. It all depends on the feedback sent by users who are testing the feature on the beta version of the app these days. From the reports sent in, there don’t seem to be any major bugs, so it could arrive on the stable version shortly.
How to install the latest update
For those who are subscribed to the messaging app’s beta program, all you have to do is update the app via the Google Play Store. While those who want to get their hands on WhatsApp’s night mode for the first time need to download the app’s APK.
