A new feature arrives on the YouTube Music app for Android: the sharing of songs as Instagram and Snapchat stories
New features coming for Instagram and Snapchat users who use YouTube Music: soon, the service dedicated to music will allow the sharing of stories on Snapchat and Instagram, directly through the app. The service is still in the development phase, but it makes it clear which is the direction taken by Google towards the two social networks.
The climb towards the Olympus of music apps for YouTube Music continues, albeit in small steps. After supplanting its predecessor Google Play Music, the music platform continues to look for new ways to integrate itself into the apps most used by users. With this move, in fact, Google is attempting another coup, trying to catch up with its competitors such as Sweden’s Spotify and Apple’s service, Apple Music, developing a new feature that could push YouTube’s latest addition into the future.
YouTube and Instagram and Snapchat stories, how it will work
At the moment, Google has not yet released clear information about how the new option will work. However, it is possible to imagine how the feature could operate in the sharing of stories, starting from YouTube Music up to the two social platforms particularly loved by the youngest.
As already happens with Apple Music and Spotify, users could have the opportunity to create stories to be published on Instagram and Snapchat, including the name of the artist and the album cover. By clicking on the link inside, it will be possible to reach the song on the music app and proceed to listen.
YouTube and Instagram and Snapchat stories, when will it arrive
As already mentioned, the Google team is still working on the development of the feature, so talking about a release date is virtually impossible. We’ll certainly have to wait for the next few months, when the official announcement from the Mountain View headquarters and the final release will arrive.
Currently, Instagram and Snapchat users equipped with an Android device can already find the possibility to share YouTube Music content on the two apps. Tapping on the share button and selecting “Instagram stories” and “Snapchat stories,” however, generates an error that crashes the app, failing to complete the operation. Despite this, it is obvious that something is brewing for Google, we just have to wait.
