Xiaomi working on an Android One smartphone

Xiaomi is organizing an event in New Delhi for September 5: a new top of the range with a dual rear camera will be unveiled

Xiaomi is ready to launch a new top of the range with dual rear cameras. This is not the usual rumors coming from the East, but an official announcement given by the Chinese company directly on its Twitter account.

For September 5, Xiaomi is organizing an event in New Delhi where it will take the veil off the new smartphone. Many people are wondering which device will be presented: it could be the Xiaomi Mi Mix 2, the smartphone launched last year that inaugurated the new fashion of bezel-less devices, or the Xiaomi Mi Note 3. From China come also other rumors about a possible partnership between Google and Xiaomi for the development of an Android One smartphone by the Chinese company. For those who don’t know, Android One smartphones use a stock version of the green robot’s mobile operating system and are usually priced lower than normal.

What will Xiaomi present on September 5

From the hashtags (FlagshipDualCamera and #XiaomiGlobalLaunch) and the words used by Xiaomi on its official account, we can understand that a top-of-the-line smartphone will be presented on September 5 in New Delhi. Most likely it is the Xiaomi Mi Mix 2, the bezel-less smartphone designed by archistar Philippe Starck. There are many elements that suggest that the device presented is the Mi Mix 2: a few days ago, the designer published a video showing the design of the new smartphone, while the owner of Xiaomi had announced that the device would be launched during the fall.

Also, from the renders released in recent months, the Xiaomi Mi Mix 2 has a dual rear camera and the features are top-of-the-line. According to rumors, the Xiaomi Mi Mix 2 is expected to mount a Snapdragon 835 chipset, supported by 6GB of RAM and at least 64GB of internal storage. The photo compartment will be the real novelty of the device, but for the moment nothing leaks out about the possible features of the rear camera.

Xiaomi Mi A1

At the event on September 5, the new Xiaomi Mi A1 could also be presented. This is a completely new smartphone for the Chinese company and should usher in the partnership between Xiaomi and Google to make Android One smartphones. These are devices that mount a stock version of Android without any aesthetic customization. And generally the prices are lower than other smartphones. On the Chinese microblogging site have appeared images and features of the smartphone: the Mi A1 should have a bezel-less screen similar to that of the Galaxy S8 and internal components that place it among the mid-range. The smartphone should mount a Snapdragon 625 supported by 4GB of RAM and 32/64GB of internal storage. For the moment, these are only rumors, which could become reality from September 5.
