The fitness tracker has already been presented in China in early June, but for the European version we will have to wait a little longer. The design will be the same, while on the features and functionality there are still some doubts.

In China is already present from the last version of the fitness tracker, while in Europe should arrive this summer thanks to an agreement between Xiaomi and Mastercard. Another important confirmation is the support for Alexa: it will be possible to talk to the personal assistant directly through the Mi Band 5 and the answer will appear on the screen.
The three unique functions of the Mi Band 5
How will the Mi Band 5 that will arrive in Europe be different from the previous model? The Chinese company is banking on three functions. Two we have already mentioned: support for Alexa and NFC technology. The third, however, is the measurement of SpO2, which is the level of oxygen in the blood. Let’s make some clarity.
The support for Alexa will allow users to manage from the smart band the smart devices in the house. But that’s not all. The voice assistant will show the answers to people’s questions directly on the screen.
The NFC technology, however, will allow you to make payments in contactless mode: just bring the bracelet to the POS and the transaction will be made automatically. At first, only Mastercard credit cards will be supported.
The heart rate sensor, however, will also be able to measure the saturation of the blood, that is, the parameter SpO2. This is a very useful value especially for those who work out.
When the Mi Band 5 arrives
The fitness tracker should be presented in July, but we still do not have a certain date. The marketing is expected to take place between late July and early August. The Mi Band 5 is expected to launch at a price of around 40 euros.
