The latest update released by the Redmond-based company seems to create more problems than it solves. Here’s what to do if they occur
New Windows 10 update, new problems: as we are now abundantly accustomed, even in the latest Windows update there are several problems.
That is, “Blue Screen of Death”, the affectionate name that has been given for several years now to the blue screens that Microsoft’s operating system shows us when it crashes. The problematic update, this time, is KB4532695 that was released on January 28 to fix the problems in File Explorer in turn brought by the previous update. As usual, by the way, despite numerous reports Microsoft states that “There are no known issues related to this update”. How to behave, then? It depends case by case, because this error is very variable.
The problems of Windows 10 update KB4532695
The least serious problem brought by update KB4532695, but which is already a symptom that something is wrong, is a strong slowdown in the startup of the operating system. Then there are the BSODs, which no one can connect with a precise conflict: it is assumed, at the moment, that something in the latest update does not get along with the audio drivers, so much so that, another problem, some users claim to no longer hear the audio coming from the speakers.
Other users report display problems on an external monitor connected to a notebook. In the most serious cases, which are fortunately few, after the update users can’t even boot up the computer because the power button suddenly seems dead.
How to fix Windows 10 update KB4532695 problems
Unfortunately, as mentioned above, Microsoft has not yet admitted that update KB4532695 could create major problems for those who install it. As a result, it hasn’t even provided information on how to fix such problems. For this reason, the first advice you should follow is to be cautious: do not install this update. If you’ve already installed it, and you’re experiencing at least one of the mentioned problems, it’s probably best to uninstall the update: it’s not worth ending up with a locked PC for an update that fixes minor issues in File Explorer and little else.
To remove the update you have to type “View update history” in the Windows 10 search box, and then click on “Uninstall updates” and look for KB4532695. Once you find the update, just right click on it and choose “Uninstall”.
