Windows 10, new problems with updates: what’s going on

Many users report experiencing many problems with the new update KB4535996. What’s going on and how to fix the malfunctions

It was supposed to be the update that solved all the problems of Windows 10, but in reality it has caused new ones. Last week we told you about Microsoft’s release of update KB4535996, an optional update that promised to get rid of all the glitches users had experienced over the past month, from the inability to use the “Search” feature to printer malfunctions.

Unfortunately, the update isn’t free of problems. On the contrary. Many users report difficulties since the installation of the update with the appearance on the screen of error codes 0x800f0922 and 0x80070003 that lock the PC. In other cases, the “blue screen of death” appears, making it impossible to use the computer and forcing users to restart the device. The luckiest ones are those who only report sudden freezes or compromised audio. How to solve these problems? Very simply by uninstalling update KB4535996 from the computer via Windows Update. Waiting for Microsoft to release a new update that will solve the new problems encountered by users.

Windows 10, all the problems of the update KB4535996

It was supposed to be the final update, the one that solved all the problems encountered by users in recent months. Instead, it’s another hole in the water. Microsoft is living a bit of a complicated period with Windows 10, especially from the point of view of updates. For a couple of months now, every time an update is released to improve the performance or security of the operating system, users report the onset of problems that compromise the daily use of the PC.

The update KB4535996 was launched with the promise of solving many of the malfunctions experienced by users, from the error that prevents you from sending documents to the printer to the abnormal battery consumption in some laptops put on standby. The web page on Microsoft’s site dedicated to the update mentions around fifty errors fixed with the update.

While some errors have been fixed, new ones have been created. In the last few hours, in fact, many users who have installed the update are reporting great problems in using their PCs. Error codes during the installation of the update, blue screen of death that actually forces you to restart your PC, slowdowns and sudden freezes, compromised audio quality. A new sequence of malfunctions that will most likely force Microsoft to release a new patch in the coming days or weeks.
