Many users report compatibility issues between the latest version of Windows 10 May Update 2020 and Malwarebytes. How to fix the problem
The latest Windows 10 update never ceases to bring surprises, not always welcomed by users. The latest one in order of appearance concerns computer problems resulting from the use of Malwarebytes, a program that defends the PC against virus attacks. It is one of the most popular computer security programs used by users, which is why in recent days there have been increasing reports of compatibility problems between Malwarebytes version 4.1 and Windows 10 May Update.
Usersersers, in fact, have started having computer problems after installing the core update of the operating system: slowdowns, momentary PC freezes, the blue screen of death (BSOD) and inability to open some Windows 10 functions. All these malfunctions have been reported on the program’s forum and the lowest common denominator seems to be the installation of Windows 10 May Update. The causes leading to this sort of incompatibility between the operating system and the application are not yet known, but it seems that there is already a solution to the problem.
Windows 10, problems with Malwarebytes
The first reports came in the previous days, right after Microsoft released the May Update 2020. And as time went on, they slowly increased, with users starting to post their experience on the Malwarebytes forum. The malfunctions, in fact, seem to concern the compatibility between the computer security software and the latest core update of Microsoft’s operating system.
The problems also seem to be quite serious: general PC slowdowns, blue screen of death, sharply declining computer performance with the inability to access some Windows 10 features.
How to Fix Windows 10 Problems
A solution to the problems seems to have already been found: some users have disabled Malwarebytes’ feature that protects against ransomware, the ransomware virus that blocks access to computer files and asks for money in return, and have no longer experienced PC slowdowns. The tool, however, is very important, especially to protect users from the increasingly frequent ransomware-type cyber attacks.
An alternative might be coming soon: Malwarebytes, in fact, has released a new beta version of the program, number 4.1.1.71, which solves all the problems encountered previously. To install it, you need to go into the software’s Settings, click on General and activate the toggle next to the “Beta updates” item. This will install the beta version that doesn’t cause problems on your PC with Windows 10 May Update 2020.
