WhatsApp Web, how to play videos in PiP mode

Picture-in-Picture mode also arrives on WhatsApp Web and allows you to continue texting your friends while you’re watching a video: how it works

We’ve already told you about the Picture-in-Picture mode on WhatsApp that allows users to watch a video they’ve received and continue talking to their friends on the platform. The feature was already available for iOS users and in mid-December it was also released for all Android smartphones. The only thing missing was WhatsApp Web, but the developers responded “present” and implemented the feature on December 20.

With Picture-in-Picture mode, users when receiving a video on WhatsApp Web will be able to decide whether to open it full screen or occupy only the top right corner to continue sending messages to their friends. The new feature is active for both single and group chats. With the release of the Picture-in-Picture mode continues the work started in recent months by WhatsApp developers to improve WhatsApp Web and make it more and more similar to the application for smartphones. By now, the web platform is used a lot at work and saves time and improves the quality of work.

WhatsApp Web, how Picture-in-Picture mode works

To use the new PiP feature of WhatsApp Web you do not need to activate any option within the menu, but it is active by default for all users. How do you view a video in Picture-in-Picture mode? Very simple. When you receive a video, you’ll notice in the content preview an icon with two screens in the upper left corner: pressing it will open a small window in the right corner of your screen where the video will be played so that you can continue writing with your friends. If the size of the window is not enough to see the movie at its best, you can decide to zoom in to the full screen, but you won’t be able to write to your friends.

As you may have guessed, using Picture-in-Picture mode on WhatsApp Web is very simple and intuitive.
