WhatsApp is working to release the new Multisfondo feature, also updating the package of wallpapers available on the app. Here’s what’s new
Significant news for WhatsApp: the beta app for Android updated to version 2.20.199.5 and showed off a new feature in development: Multisfund. We’ve already talked about it in previous weeks: it’s a new tool that will allow users to set a different Background for each conversation, in order to make their WhatsApp much more personal. At the moment, in fact, users can choose a single background for all conversations, both group and “one to one”.
So far, the feature had been spotted only on WhatsApp for iOS, while now it has been spotted by the guys at WaBetaInfo also on Android. The tool is still under development and is not even available in the beta version, but it should not be long before its release. The news, as usual, was given by the guys at WaBetaInfo, who have published a post on their personal blog, raising another news: the developers are working to bring back in vogue even the application Wallpaper Library that is not updated since 2011. Here’s everything you need to know.
WhatsApp, what is the Multisound feature
As you can easily guess from the name, the Multisound feature allows users to set a different wallpaper for each WhatsApp conversation. A new tool that makes conversations much more colorful and fun.
How will Multisurfacing work? Very simple: when you enter a chat, you’ll be able to choose your custom wallpaper by opening the menu and then pressing on Wallpaper. You’ll see a small menu on the screen in which you’ll be able to choose between different sources to find the perfect image. Among the various sources is also the Backgrounds Library, a separate WhatsApp app that hasn’t been updated in a while and will finally get a freshening up
What is the Backgrounds Library app
To access WhatsApp’s Backgrounds Library, just enter a chat, press on the menu, then on Background and choose the “Backgrounds Library” option. The message “Do you want to download WhatsApp wallpaper pack?” will appear on the screen and pressing Ok will download new wallpapers. This pack, however, hasn’t been updated in a while and will probably receive an update for this very occasion.
When the new WhatsApp feature arrives
The tool is still under development and is not available even in the beta version. This means that we will have to wait a little longer before we see it on the messaging app. In addition, WhatsApp will also have to update the Wallpaper Library app that hasn’t received an update since 2011. It’s likely to arrive on the beta version by the end of the year.
