Developers are developing a system that will ask users for their fingerprint every time they try to access WhatsApp chats
WhatsApp, big news for the future: according to the guys at WaBetaInfo, a Twitter profile that anticipates the new features of the messaging application, soon a new system will be released that will make their conversations and account more secure.
It has been a long time that users have been asking for a new way to protect their conversations from prying eyes and it seems that finally WhatsApp developers have decided to listen to their requests. As reported by WaBetaInfo, in the beta version of WhatsApp for iPhone has been added a new feature that once activated will force the user to use Touch ID or Face ID to access chats. A very advanced protection system that will block any attempt by curious colleagues or hackers to get inside their conversations and read messages.
How the new WhatsApp security system will work
The feature is included in WhatsApp’s privacy settings and it will be up to the user to decide whether to activate it. When he decides to do so, every time he will have to use his fingerprint or facial recognition to access conversations, even if the smartphone has already been unlocked. If all attempts fail, you’ll be asked for the iPhone’s unlock code.
The new system is still in the early stages of development and you’ll have to wait at least a couple of months before it’s officially released. For the moment it is only present in the beta version of WhatsApp for iPhone and there is no news if it will be made available on Android.
Those who want to test the new feature that increases the security of WhatsApp will have to download the beta version of the application.
