Discover the dark mode of WhatsApp that will change the graphical interface of the application and will save battery
WhatsApp is the most used application in the world and the reasons are many: it allows you to talk to people present on the other side of the World and stay in touch with family and friends. But what really makes the difference are the features that developers have added to the application over the years: calls, video calls, the ability to send photos and videos.
But on some aspects programmers are lagging behind the competition. One of them is the dark mode, a feature that allows you to change the colors of the application, using black as a base. Dark Mode brings several benefits: it doesn’t tire the eyes when we use the smartphone at night, and above all it reduces battery consumption. This second feature, however, applies only to OLED screens. After the accumulated delay, the developers have finally started to develop the dark mode and released it within the beta version of WhatsApp for Android.
How the dark mode of WhatsApp works
The guys at WABetaInfo, always very informed about WhatsApp news, have published on their personal blog the first images of the dark mode. The feature has been integrated into version 2.19.82 of the beta of WhatsApp for Android and to activate it you need to go inside the Settings. From the photos you can see that with Dark Mode enabled, the app’s GUI changes profoundly. White is replaced by black, and the use of green is reduced to a minimum. When you enter inside a chat, black and gray are the predominant colors.
For the moment, WhatsApp’s Dark Mode is still in the testing phase and it is not known for sure when it will be released on the official version. If everything goes well, Dark Mode will arrive very soon for both Android and iOS. Just a few more days and we will definitely know more.
