What is Instagram’s 10 years challenge

#10yearschallenge is the hashtag that has gone viral on Instagram over the past few days, with many VIPs posting pictures from when they were young. Why?

If you’ve come across the hashtag #10yearschallenge on Instagram, Facebook and Twitter in the last few days, you should know that you’re not the only one. Celebrities, everyday people, artists, singers, soccer players, everyone is posting a picture with the hashtag #10yearschallenge. For what reason? Very simple, show how you were ten years ago and see how you have changed.

Many VIPs have joined this “challenge” and have published on their personal profiles posts with two images: the first of ten years ago and the second of today. Needless to say, within a few minutes the photos published have collected millions of likes and hundreds of comments. The success of the hashtag #10yearschallenge was immediate, in two days the posts with the hashtag grew by leaps and bounds. Some celebrities have taken the opportunity to post funny pictures, such as the American comedian Sarah Silverman has posted two identical photos of how it was in 2009 accompanied by the caption “God, I’m so old”.

#10yearschallenge, the new challenge of Instagram

This is not the first time that a new fashion goes crazy on Instagram. In years past, the hashtag #bucketchallenge that accompanied the ALS ad campaign to raise money for amyotrophic lateral sclerosis research had gone viral. Many of you will remember the videos of famous people (including then-President Barack Obama) being doused with buckets of ice water.

#10yearschallenge doesn’t have the same charitable purposes, but it has gone viral just as quickly. You only need to enter your Facebook, Twitter and Instagram profiles to see the pictures of many celebrities, including Chiara Ferragni who posted a picture of how she looked ten years ago accompanied by a very long caption. Among the footballers, to report the post of Paul Pogba that portrays him in two images, one of ten years ago and one of today, always with the shirt of Manchester United.
