The Vivo Apex 2019 is a smartphone with no bezel and no holes in the screen. It mounts the Snapdragon 855, 12GB of RAM and 512GB of internal storage
The name Vivo will say very little to most of you. This is a Chinese manufacturer that a few months ago also arrived in Italy with smartphones with good value for money. The Chinese company has risen to the honor of the chronicles for having presented last year at the Mobile World Congress the Vivo Apex, a concept phone that presented futuristic solutions. The device, however, was made in a limited edition and only a few hundred thousand arrived on the market.
Ahead of last year, the Chinese company presented the Vivo Apex 2019 at an event held in China. This time it’s not a concept phone, but a “live” smartphone that will be the base from which Vivo will start to develop the phones to be released this year. The Vivo Apex 2019 is a revolutionary smartphone: the front is borderless (except for a very small bottom bezel), it doesn’t have a notch and it doesn’t even have holes on the screen. The front camera is missing and Vivo did not reveal how it integrated it into the smartphone.
Vivo Apex 2019, the features
The Chinese company did not want to give too much information about its smartphone. We know that on board it will mount the Snapdragon 855 supported by 12GB of RAM and 512 GB of internal storage. There will also be support for the 5G network. There is no news, however, about the size of the screen and the characteristics of the rear camera (there will be two photo sensors).
Vivo has used some special technologies for the Apex 2019. As mentioned, the smartphone is full-screen and has no front edges. Both the ear capsule and the speaker are absent: the screen will be the one that transmits sound and will turn into a speaker. The Chinese company has also adopted a dual-layer motherboard that allows reducing the size of the internal components.
When Vivo Apex 2019 will hit the market
Vivo did not provide information on when the smartphone will be released to the market, but assured that the device will be produced on a large scale. The Vivo Apex 2019 will be made in three different colors: black, white and silver. The price is expected to be over 1,000 euros.
