Trivabus, Apulian startup that makes bus travel cheaper than €1

Have you ever noticed buses traveling “empty” on the highway? Probably. Trivabus has decided to eliminate this unnecessary waste with an ad hoc service

A coach takes travelers to their destination and then what does it do? There are two possibilities: back to the original place of departure or to the next point of departure without travelers. This is what is known in jargon as an “empty route”. Trivabus has come up with an idea that, at the same time, offers three interesting advantages.

The first is less pollution for the environment and a reduction in road congestion, which are never factors to be underestimated. The second advantage is for the company that rents the bus, which can transform the empty routes into a profit, or at least, into a return of the costs of tolls and gasoline. And for the traveler who can save up to 98% compared to normal rates on many domestic routes such as Milan-Rome, Rome-Lecce, Rome-Cosenza or Naples-Milan. Trivabus, in short, hunts for free seats and charges them at unbeatable prices starting from 0.99 euros.

How Trivabus works

A premise is a must: it is true that Trivabus is a startup in the transport sector, but it was born from a decade of experience through the bus operator EurobusNetwork. But you are interested in knowing how Trivabus works. It’s very simple: go to the Trivabus website and register by entering your personal data. Once you have completed this “bureaucratic” operation and obtained an account, do a search for the desired route. If you don’t find what you’re looking for, the service provides you with two other options. The first allows you to propose your route and, when a minimum number of similar requests is reached, Trivabus will act to make it available. The second one concerns those who have a “flexible” destination, in the sense that if they don’t find exactly the city where they are going, maybe they get very close and then somehow get there by other means. In this case, simply enter the departure location in the appropriate box and view all available offers. Keep in mind that the service has just started – excuse the pun – so the number of available routes will surely increase with time.
