The display of the Galaxy A10 will have a fingerprint sensor and will be able to reproduce sounds. It will be unveiled at CES 2019 in January in Las Vegas
Samsung seems to have changed pace in the last year and has started experimenting on its mid-range smartphones with innovative solutions that are then also integrated on high-end devices. The smartphones deputies to the experiments are those of the A series: it is no coincidence that the four rear cameras have been included on the Galaxy A9 and perhaps in the future will be mounted on Note 10 or Galaxy S10.
The South Korean company, however, does not seem to have finished the experiments and for 2019 has in store other news. And they always involve A-series smartphones. At CES 2019 in Las Vegas, the world’s most important technology fair held every year in early January, the new Galaxy A10 could be launched, a smartphone with a truly revolutionary screen for Samsung. The phone, in fact, should have a screen that integrates an ultrasonic fingerprint sensor and will be able to play sounds without the use of the speaker thanks to the Sound on Display technology developed by South Korean engineers.
How will the Galaxy A10
The Galaxy A10 will be an evolution of the Galaxy A9, a smartphone with four rear cameras, and the Galaxy A8s, a phone that mounts the Infinity-O display with the hole in the top left corner (the same that we will most likely also see on the Galaxy S10) and will be the first Samsung device with the fingerprint sensor under the screen. The South Korean company is one of the few to have not yet implemented this solution on one of its devices and the Galaxy A10 is the perfect model to test the effectiveness of the fingerprint sensor inside the screen. Samsung should mount a sensor that uses ultrasound to recognize the owner’s fingerprint, a solution that should ensure a certain reliability.
The display that will be mounted on the Galaxy A10 was previewed by Samsung last October during an event in China dedicated to OLED screens. In the event, Samsung showed that the display, in addition to integrating the fingerprint sensor, is also capable of playing people’s sounds without having to use speakers. Samsung’s engineers have developed a technology that can use the screen as if it were a surface that can diffuse sound waves and reproduce people’s voices without affecting the audio quality. The technology has the name “Sound on Display” and will allow in the future to make smartphones with smaller dimensions.
When will we see the Galaxy A10
Samsung should show this revolutionary screen at CES 2019 in Las Vegas: in the same event will also debut the Galaxy A10. To see the smartphone on the market will have to wait until February.
