There’s a lot of anticipation around the second-generation AirPods Pro, but rumors predict yet another postponement: a lot of patience will be needed
New postponement on the horizon for AirPods Pro 2, Apple’s wireless headphones with active noise cancellation (ANC). Initially it was said that they would arrive in April 2022, then, not even a month ago, came news of a first postponement that put them in the period between July and September 2022.
Now comes a new “blow” for Apple fans who are waiting for the second generation of AirPods Pro, and the worst news is that it comes from a reliable voice as that of analyst Ming Chi-Kuo, usually very well informed about what happens from the parts of the Apple headquarters in Cupertino. Even the Apple would not be immune to the difficulties arising from the shortage of chips worldwide, and for this reason it would be forced to postpone once again the debut of the AirPods Pro 2, leaving fans in the indecision of whether to wait or perhaps settle for the new AirPods 3.
New postponement: when AirPods Pro 2 arrive
Wanting to wait, it seems that we will have to arm ourselves with a lot of patience. Analyst Ming Chi-Kuo predicts a long wait, and the rumor that indicated a launch of AirPods Pro 2 in April is now a distant whisper: the new forecast speaks of a debut in the last quarter of 2022, so in the period between September and December of the new year, new production difficulties and new postponements permitting, of course.
It is to be hoped that this second postponement will be the last one, but in an uncertain and precarious situation like the current one, we really can’t go overboard, and if another one should arrive, it would certainly be a matter of moving everything to 2023, making the wait even longer than it already is. The danger, in short, for the AirPods Pro 2 is concrete, and there is nothing to do but to remain at the window waiting for news.
AirPods Pro 2, what to expect
After all, according to rumors, Apple has on its agenda a major restructuring of the current project. For the AirPods Pro 2 the Apple would have thought first of all a new design: goodbye to the “stem” that contains the touch-sensitive surface for controlling the earphones for a more classic design similar to that which characterizes the Beats Fit Pro, headphones of the company that Apple bought in 2014 for the beauty of 3 billion dollars.
Attended also an improvement in audio quality, a more advanced chip and a larger battery, able to ensure better autonomy. Needless to say, the AirPods Pro 2 will retain active noise cancellation, if possible making it even more effective. Also present is the wireless charging case compatible with MagSafe magnetic charging, the only novelty intended by Apple for the AirPods Pro from the presentation to date.
In short, the improvements to the AirPods Pro 2 should not lack, but it will take a lot of patience.
