Reactions are ready to arrive on Telegram in the coming months. Here’s what they are and what they’re for
A picture posted on Twitter by WaBetaInfo was enough to spark the imagination of users: message Reactions are coming to Telegram. For those who don’t know, Reactions are emoticons to be used to show appreciation or disdain for a specific message we have received. To understand what they are used for, just think of the Reaction present on Facebook or Skype, with which a user, without directly responding to the message, shows his reaction.
For a long time Telegram and WhatsApp users require the two messaging apps to implement this feature and from the latest rumors it seems that the Russian messaging app is more advanced in development. In fact, so far there has been no rumor that WhatsApp is working on a similar tool. Telegram developers in recent years have proven to be always a bit more pro-active, first implementing features that later came to WhatsApp as well.
What are Reactions on Telegram
The guys at WaBetaInfo, usually always very informed about new features of WhatsApp, this time announce a novelty for Telegram: Reactions to messages arrive. These are emoticons that show our state of mind with respect to a single message. From the image published by WaBetaInfo, initially the available Reactions will all be centered on the heart. There will be the “beating heart” to show affection, the “broken heart” when we don’t like the message and so on.
How Reactions work on Telegram
It’s still not very clear how Reactions work on Telegram, but we can imagine that the use is very simple: just select the message and emoticons will appear on the screen. Selecting one of the smilies, the emoticon with the reaction will appear next to the messages.
The user who wrote the message, however, will receive a notification that will alert him of the presence of a Reaction and will be able to check who inserted it.
When Reactions arrive on Telegram
It is difficult to make predictions: the feature is still in the development phase and before we see it in the stable version of the app we will have to wait a little longer. WaBetaInfo assures that a server-side update will be released in the coming months.
