The Ministry of Economy and Finance has started to warn the winners: the Super Cashback ranking is closed, the 1.500 euros are about to arrive
It took almost four and a half months, but at last 100,000 Italians are about to celebrate: the 1,500 euros of the Super Cashback are on their way, as confirmed by a message sent by the Ministry of Economy and Finance via the IO app to the rightful claimants. That is, to those who managed to stay within the 100,000 position in the Super Cashback ranking.
The first (and only) semester of Cashback ended on June 30, 2021 and saw the participation of more than 8 million users, with 6,120,038 users who have already received (almost all, to be honest) the €150 refund for the so-called “Ordinary Cashback” as of mid-August. Still missing, however, was the 1,500 euro transfer for those who have totaled more transactions than anyone else in the six months, not without heated controversy over the way in which these transactions were carried out. At the beginning of June, it seemed that a crackdown was underway against the “scoundrels”, but with the final closure of the leaderboard, it’s safe to say that no decisive action has been taken against those who have collected hundreds of microtransactions.
Super Cashback: the message from MEF
Since last night, and especially since this morning, users have had the confirmation to be among the one hundred thousand: on IO they have in fact received a message, sent by the Ministry of Economy and Finance: “Congratulations, you are entitled to Super Cashback! Congratulations, you’re among the 100 thousand participants at the top of the Super Cashback ranking and you’re entitled to a refund of 1500 euros!”
To fall in the circle of winners are all those who have made at least 787 valid transactions in the semester of reference. A very high number, equal to an average of almost four transactions per day, including holidays. Nothing illegal, however, since the prohibition to make microtransactions that was present in the draft of the Cashback decree has then disappeared from the final legislation.
Super Cashback: when the 1,500 euros arrive
At the gates of the Christmas holidays, therefore, 150 million euros are coming for 100 thousand Italian serial swipers. The message of the MEF also specifies the timing of disbursement of the prize: “The amount will be credited by November 30, 2021, as provided by the regulation. You will receive a message when the transfer will be made to the IBAN that you have already communicated”.
We specify, however, that also in this case the date declared by MEF is not the one by which the winners will have the money in their account: it is the one by which the transfer will be made.
