According to the latest rumors, the music streaming platform is working on a new graphic interface, designed for drivers
Smartphones and safe driving are two concepts that unfortunately don’t get along so well, as evidenced by the number of accidents, even fatal ones, caused by the use of the device behind the wheel. Many companies have taken the field to protect the safety of users. One of them is Spotify.
Although there is still absolutely nothing official, according to the latest rumors, the music streaming platform is working on a new mode designed just for drivers. The news, which for now remain just rumors, appeared on Reddit a few days ago, where images of Spotify’s new interface were posted. If the leaksĀ are reliable, the leading music on demand app would be ready, therefore, to join Apple, which in iOS 11, currently available in beta version, has introduced “Don’t Disturb Driving”, a feature that locks the smartphone while the user is behind the wheel.
How Spotify’s Driving Mode works
As said, for now there is very little information leaked and, therefore, it is not possible to understand in detail how Spotify’s Driving Mode will work. You have to refer mainly to the images posted on Reddit to guess something.
The new mode, once activated, will display a ‘graphical interface, which allows you to launch or switch from one song to another more easily and quickly. In the screen, in fact, the “forward” and “back” buttons are much larger. In addition, in the middle of the two buttons there will be a microphone icon, which will probably allow you to use voice commands.
To activate the steering wheel mode, simply press a car-shaped button, located in the lower left corner of the classic Spotify screen.
Will it arrive soon?
At the moment we don’t know more. Many wonder if it will only be included in the paid version or will it be able to be used by everyone. Most importantly, it’s unknown when the company will release (assuming they do) the new feature.
