Snap3D is an additional screen that when superimposed on the smartphone display allows you to enjoy 3D technology without the use of glasses
Snap3D covers are a key element to protect smartphones, increasingly sophisticated and at the same time very fragile. And that’s not all. Some cases, in fact, go beyond this function, integrating a series of complementary services that improve the mobile device.
There are, for example, covers that protect against hackers, those that increase performance, and even covers that make coffee. Snap3D, on the other hand, brings 3D technology to a simple smartphone. Actually, more than a case, Snap3D is mostly an additional screen. Its job is to turn your phone’s display into a 3D screen. If you want to use Snap3D as a normal cover, you place it on the back of the device. Otherwise, the case must be placed on top of the smartphone’s screen. And that’s where the magic begins. On the display, the transmitted content will take on the classic 3D effect.
How the Snap3D cover works
The advantage of this cover revolves around the ability to enjoy 3D technology without wearing a pair of glasses, elements that have partly held back the success of 3D televisions. Like any self-respecting cover, Snap3D is available for several smartphone models, which include the Samsung Galaxy A5, the Galaxy S7, the Galaxy Note and the iPhone 6, 6S, 7 and 7 Plus. There is also a version for the Galaxy Tab S1 tablet and one for the PC screen.
There is no information regarding the technology employed by the company to make the 3D cover. However, technical elements aside, the case lends itself to be used with various 3D content. You can use it to watch movies and videos, to play games, or to give a sense of depth to roads and streets on sat navs. Obviously, the applications must be compatible with 3D.
