Sculpto+, the easy-to-use 3D printer

When we think of 3D printers many of us imagine complex machinery, in reality there are solutions, like Sculpto+, that are suitable for everyone

When we talk about 3D printers most people imagine complicated machinery, difficult to program and use. That’s not always the case. And in the future it will be less and less so. Thanks in part to printers like the Sculpto+, which bills itself as the world’s easiest 3D printer to use.

The Sculpto+ is a 3D printer launching on the Kickstarter crowdfunding platform. It is a very lightweight machine that weighs just 2.7 pounds. Despite its weight, it can make quite large objects compared to its size. With Sculpto+ we will be able to create objects as big as a soccer ball. Obviously it’s very easy to transport and can even fit in a backpack. But we said that it is the easiest 3D printer in the world to use. That’s because to make our 3D objects all we have to do is pressĀ buttons on our smartphone.

It’s easy to use thanks to the app

From the app, which is available for Android and iOS, you can choose from a multitude of preset print templates. But we can also print our own creations and design them on the spot. The object creation phase is guided and the app advises us how to structure our product according to what we want to achieve. To give an example, it advises us on the size or weight based on the shape we are giving our object.

Silent and environmentally friendly

This is one of the quietest economic 3D printers among those currently on the market. The sound level during processing has been reduced to 44 decibels. Basically, it can be used anywhere without disturbing you because the only noise it makes is that of two fans that help the printing process. The Sculpto+ uses special plastic filaments called PLA, which are made from biodegradable corn. This way all the objects created do not have a major impact on the environment. The printer has several models on Kickstarter, with or without advanced settings and filament kits. The cheapest version costs just over 260 euros while the most expensive one is over 1600 euros. All shipments will start in January 2018 and the economic goal has already been hit by the company.
