Samsung has filed a patent for a screen that rolls up and unfolds. It’s a project still completely shrouded in mystery, but here are the images that hint at what it’s all about
Companies file patents all the time, but not all projects are then actually implemented. Samsung has, however, recently filed one with the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office that has captured the attention of the web.
It is, from what we can guess from the images posted on the site Patently Mobile – a foldable that rolls up (and unrolls) like a parchment of a few millennia ago and then close like a book. It’s still too early to say if this Samsung patent will ever come into production, but in the meantime let’s start by taking a look at the drawings of the projects filed while waiting for more information to better clarify the intentions of the Korean giant.
The patent of the TV “scrollable”
Samsung in the details accompanying the patents, as often happens, has been sparing of information. It merely informed that it is a display that rolls up that could be used as a TV, monitor, gaming console, multimedia device, laptop, camera or something else. In short, it could be everything or nothing.
