Samsung presents a TV that costs as much as a house

Samsung presents a TV as big as a house and that costs as much as a house: it’s the 110-inch MicroLED that costs 128 thousand euros.

Would you spend more than a thousand euros per inch for a smart TV with a huge, state-of-the-art screen? If the answer is yes, then the TV in question already exists: it’s the 110-inch Samsung MicroLED, which costs “only” 128 thousand euros.

Come to think of it, it’s not even that much, if we consider that the top of the range of Samsung’s giant screens (i.e. the famous 150-inch “The Wall”) costs about 300 thousand euros. Among other things, unlike The Wall, this Samsung MicroLED TV is not even modular, so it doesn’t have to be assembled at the customer’s home but arrives ready-made. “As consumers today rely on their TVs for numerous functions, and as never before, we are very excited to bring the 110″ MicroLED to market,” explains Jonghee Han, President of Visual Display Business at Samsung Electronics, “Samsung MicroLED will redefine the meaning of premium at-home experiences for consumers around the world.

Samsung 130KTV: What it looks like

As mentioned, this Samsung MicroLED Smart TV has a diagonal of a whopping 110 inches and, as a result, offers a space equal to four 55-inch displays side-by-side. The visual impact, therefore, is home cinema of the highest level if we have enough space (as well as money) to install it in the house.

The MicroLED technology is the same used The Wall and is based on a huge amount of tiny LEDs, each of which is a sub-pixel. This configuration allows you to reach very high resolutions, although the 110-inch MicroLED Samsung stops at “only” 4K to offer the best quality at the highest resolution available today for video content. Going beyond 4K would not have made sense, given the almost total lack of streaming video, TV or physical media with higher resolutions.

In addition to excellent video Samsung has decided to equip its giant TV also with a great 5.1-channel audio, without external speakers. Very interesting is the Object Tracking Sound Pro function, which identifies moving objects and subjects on the screen and modifies the sound to follow the action and increase even more the realism.

TV Samsung MicroLED 110-inch: when it arrives and how much it costs

The new 110-inch MicroLED smart TV will be presented within the first quarter of 2021 in Korea, where it will be put on sale at a price of 170 million Korean won, equivalent to the current exchange rate to about 128,500 euros. With this figure you can buy a studio apartment in the suburbs of Rome or much more, in a small Italian town.

Subsequently it will be put on sale also on the international market, including Europe and Italy, where, however, will have a different price (not yet announced) and most likely higher due to transport costs and different taxation.
