Samsung also challenges Apple in the laptop sector. It does so with the Galaxy Book S, a very thin device characterized by infinite autonomy
Not only Galaxy Note 10 and 10 plus. During the Unpacked event in New York, Samsung officially unveiled the new Samsung Galaxy Book S, an ultra-thin laptop with exaggerated autonomy. The possible launch of the new Samsung laptop was already in the air for some time, but few imagined that it would be the counterpart to the new Samsung phablets.
The new Samsung laptop, as stated by DJ Koh, President and CEO of the IT & Mobile Communications division of Samsung Electronics, wants to redefine the mobile computing experience. And it does so by combining the best features of the Korean brand along with the solutions offered by Microsoft and the performance of Qualcomm processors. The Galaxy Book S is a truly innovative laptop that offers a series of technologies usually used on smartphones. It starts from the chip with ARM architecture, which ensures a long battery life, up to the touch-to-wake functionality, which allows you to unlock in a similar way to the system usually used on smartphones.
Samsung Galaxy Book S: features
Realized entirely in aluminum, the Galaxy Book S is equipped with the Snapdragon 8cx processor at 7 nanometers, a chip with ARM architecture more similar to that used on smartphones than normally used in a PC. In particular, the use of the new Qualcomm processor does not require a cooling fan and can improve CPU performance by 40% and graphics performance by 80% compared to an Intel CPU for laptops and portable devices.
The data connection is the strong point of the new Samsung laptop and is guaranteed by a SIM card connected to an ultra fast LTE modem. The display is a 13.3-inch FullHD resolution TFT panel with 16:10 ratio and 10-point multitouch, while the storage capacity is 512GB that can be increased up to 1TB using a microSD. As already anticipated, the battery is long-lasting and provides up to 23 hours of video playback.
Samsung Galaxy Book S: prices and release
The new Samsung Galaxy Book S will be available from September in two different colors: Earthy Gold and Mercury Gray. Prices are still unknown.
