The market for fixed and mobile telephony is evolving greatly with new competitors who make their debut and with others who decide to change strategy and turn to new market niches. One of the few operators that has remained faithful to its philosophy, carrying it forward even in the most complicated moments is Fastweb. The company was founded in 1999 under the name of e.Biscom and specializes in bringing fiber optics in large cities to offer high-speed internet to individuals and families. In 2004 takes the name of Fastweb continuing in its goal of improve the quality and speed of the connection throughout Italy. After the successes achieved in the fixed telephony market, Fastweb in 2015 also threw itself into the mobile sector, becoming a Full Mobile Virtual Network Operator (Full MVNO). What does that mean? It means that it relies on the network of another operator to offer its service.
In recent years Fastweb has refined its business strategy and has worked to improve the quality of the network and signal, becoming one of the first operators to offer ultra-fast fiber up to 2.5 Gigabit/s. We have been using the network of this operator for several years now, first for fixed line and then for mobile, and now we are ready to give you our opinion on Fastweb.
Fastweb Casa: features and prices of Fastweb’s NeXXt Casa offer
From May 2021 Fastweb has rethought its home internet offer by presenting Fastweb NeXXt Casa. La nuova offerta per la rete fissa di Fastweb si compone di due diversi profili tariffari: un’offerta solo dati, chiamata NeXXt Casa Light, ideale per chi non utilizza più il telefono fisso in casa; e un’offerta all inclusive, chiamata NeXXt Casa, che comprende chiamate illimitate verso numeri fissi e mobili nazionali e connessione in fibra pura FTTH con velocità fino a 2,5 gigabit al secondo (circa 300 megabyte al secondo) nelle aree coperte da rete proprietaria Fastweb.
Le caratteristiche e i prezzi di Fastweb NeXXt Casa sono chiari e senza sorprese, come da filosofia Fastweb. Scegliendo NeXXt Casa Light si avrà:
- Connessione in fibra pura con velocità fino a 2,5 gigabit al secondo;
- Attivazione linea gratuita;
- Internet Box NeXXt con Alexa;
- Chiamate nazionali fisse e mobili a consumo (15 centesimi al minuto senza scatto alla risposta);
- Prezzo di 27,95 euro al mese.
Scegliendo NeXXt Casa si avrà:
- Connessione in fibra pura con velocità fino a 2,5 gigabit al secondo;
- Attivazione linea gratuita;
- Internet Box NeXXt con Alexa e amplificatore Wi-Fi Booster;
- Chiamate nazionali fisse e mobili incluse;
- Prezzo di 30,95 euro al mese.
Si tratta di due profili tariffari quasi identici ma allo stesso tempo complementari. La grandissima diffusione degli smartphone, e di offerte di telefonia mobile con chiamate illimitate incluse (come le offerte NeXXt Mobile che vedremo tra poco), ha ridotto notevolmente l’utilizzo del telefono fisso. Molte persone, quindi, potrebbero trovare vantaggiosa l’offerta NeXXt Casa Light, con chiamate a pagamento. Others, still “tied” to the landline handset, might opt instead for the NeXXt Casa rate, with unlimited calls to landline and mobile numbers.
Our personal experience as multi-year Fastweb subscribers tells us that, whatever the choice, the quality of the connection will not be affected. With a proprietary fiber optic network of over 40,000 kilometers, in fact, Fastweb reaches over 6.9 million households and businesses in ultra-wideband, thus ensuring a stable and fast connection. In recent years, in fact, the problems recorded on our users have been practically non-existent, or at least of very slight entity. And, when they occurred, Fastweb customer service has always offered a very high level of assistance, helping to open reports or solve local problems (related, perhaps, to the configuration of the router). Our opinion on Fastweb, as we will explain in detail in a little while, can only be positive.
Check the network coverage Fastweb NeXXt Casa
Fastweb provides all users with a useful tool to verify the coverage of the fiber optic network and find out in advance what will be the average speed – both download and upload – of your connection. Just enter the full address of the house where we want to activate the Fastweb NeXXt Casa Internet line and wait for the response: in the summary screen we could know what type of connection is reached our home (pure fiber, fiber mixed copper or copper), the download and upload speed and latency. These data are indicative but, in the vast majority of cases, correspond to the real ones.
How to activate Fastweb NeXXt Casa and check the activation of the line
To activate Fastweb NeXXt Casa (both in the “Light” version and in the version with national calls included) you have several ways. The simplest and most immediate is to access the Fastweb.it portal, choose the home internet offer that best suits your needs and follow the online procedure. Everything takes a handful of minutes and also allows you to check the coverage of the Fastweb network and the speed of connection that awaits us. Alternatively, we can leave our phone number and, within a few minutes, we will be contacted by an operator Fastweb that will guide us in the process of requesting activation of the home Internet offer chosen.
After the procedure we will receive an email confirmation of the request with the identification code of our line. From this moment on, we will be able to follow the entire process directly from our smartphone, by downloading the “MyFastweb” app from the App Store (for iPhone) or from the Google Play Store (for Android devices). From the app, it will also be possible to check costs and consumption, download digital bills and much more.
What do we think of NeXXt, Fastweb’s new modem with Alexa built-in
In May 2021, Fastweb not only launched its new home Internet offers, but also presented Fastweb NeXXt, a latest-generation internet box that integrates in a single device a modem/router to manage the home connection and a smart speaker with Alexa’s artificial intelligence built-in. A product that we can control with simple voice commands, allowing us to easily manage smart home devices connected to our Wi-Fi network. Thanks to the Fastweb NeXXt, therefore, it will be possible to turn on and off smart bulbs, control the temperature of the connected thermostat and much more.
The Fastweb NeXXt, however, is first and foremost a modem/router and, reading the specifications, top-notch. Compatible with the Wi-Fi 6 standard, it allows you to connect to the Internet with a maximum speed of 2.5 gigabits per second in download and 300 megabits per second in upload; it manages up to 128 simultaneously connected devices and is equipped with an extremely intuitive and user friendly user interface. This, however, does not mean that the Fastweb NeXXt is stingy with functionality. On the contrary, exactly the opposite is true: by browsing through the various options you will have the possibility to create usage profiles, so as to privilege a device instead of another while we are working; manage the network load in a dynamic way and set up Wi-Fi activation and deactivation times. Everything can be activated or deactivated, of course, with a simple voice command.
The new Fastweb internet box, in short, is preparing to become the “beating heart” of the home automation, giving way to manage the devices of the smart home, “question” the artificial intelligence of Alexa for any doubt or curiosity, and manage in an intuitive and smart home Internet connection.
Fastweb NeXXt Casa review: our verdict
As already mentioned, Fastweb’s new home Internet offer has doubled up to respond to a rapidly evolving world. Those who no longer use the landline phone at home can opt for the Light pricing plan, with calls to consumption and lower fixed monthly cost; those, however, who can not give up the old landline number, can choose the standard pricing plan, with national calls to landlines and cell phones included in the monthly fee.
In both cases, however, you will have the certainty of a quality connection, characterized by high stability and speed if you live in a medium to large city you can take advantage of the pure fiber line of Fastweb, with speeds up to 2.5 gigabits per second; otherwise you will have to “settle” for a fiber connection mixed copper with a maximum speed of 200 megabits per second or an ADSL connection of 20 megabits); clear prices and no surprises; a dedicated customer service easy to reach (from the app “MyFastweb” you can ask to be called by an operator).
To this is added an extremely simple line activation process, which can be completed online as well as by phone. In short, within everyone’s reach.
Fastweb Mobile: features, prices and our opinion on NeXXt Mobile by Fastweb
Since 2015 Fastweb has entered the world of mobile thanks to the agreement signed with TIM. Technically speaking, Fastweb is a Full Mobile Virtual Network Operator (Full MVNO), i.e. a virtual phone operator that relies on an existing network to offer the service to its customers. Until the first half of 2020, Fastweb’s network used TIM repeaters but, after the agreement signed with Wind-Tre (a partnership that also includes the construction of a 5G network), the switch to the network of the operator owned by CK Hutchinson took place. Obviously, network coverage and service quality have not been affected: Fastweb’s mobile network guarantees excellent signal reception throughout the country and mobile Internet with excellent upload and download speeds.
In conjunction with the launch of the new home Internet offers, Fastweb also presented the renewed NeXXt Mobile offers. And also in this case there has been a “proliferation” of tariffs. Now users can choose between three different pricing plans, united by several gigabytes of data threshold, unlimited national and international calls and zero SIM activation and shipping costs.

- 100 SMS;
- Nessuna limitazione di velocità in download e upload;
- Assistenza telefonica e via app.
La terza opzione è dedicata a chi alla ricerca di un piano tariffario solo dati. Ossia, di un’alternativa alla connessione fissa di casa o di un sistema per lavorare in piena libertà senza preoccupazioni di sorta. Fastweb NeXXt Mobile Dati al costo di 19,95 euro al mese offre:
- 300 GB anche in 5G;
- Nessuna limitazione di velocità in download e upload;
- Assistenza telefonica e via app.
L’Assistenza Clienti Fastweb: come funziona e come contattarla
Se si vogliono scoprire le nuove offerte Fastweb o si ha bisogno di assistenza per problemi con la rete fissa Fastweb offre diverse opzioni per entrare in contatto con l’Assistenza Clienti. Quella più facile e immediata è accedere all’area personale MyFastweb, raggiungibile sia da PC sia tramite l’app per smartphone e tablet. All’interno dell’area clienti Fastweb è presente la sezione “Supporto Fastweb” che risponde in modo semplice a tutte le domande più frequenti dei clienti.
Come ultima alternativa, ma non per questo meno valida, c’è la pagina Facebook di Fastweb dove entrare direttamente in contatto con il social care e ricevere assistenza velocemente.

Inoltre, con il lancio del Fastweb NeXXt e dei nuovi piani tariffari (due per le offerte Internet casa, tre per internet mobile), la proposta commerciale Fastweb si arricchisce di nuovi e interessanti servizi. L’internet box con l’intelligenza artificiale di Alexa integrato permette di gestire al meglio la connessione di casa e tutti i nostri dispositivi della smart home. Just a voice command to turn on the lights or start the air conditioning, or even select a navigation profile that gives a “boost” to the PC connection during working hours and then “rebalance” everything at the end of the day.
