Redmi Note 9 Pro, low-cost top-of-the-line features

It’s already time for the Redmi Note 9 Pro. The Chinese company is ready to launch the new device, successor of the Redmi Note 8 Pro that has been a good success in Italy too. It is a low-cost smartphone with mid-range features, but winks at the upper range. The device will be presented on March 12 in an event that will be broadcasted only in streaming: the outbreak of Coronavirus is forcing all manufacturers to cancel physical events to counter the spread of the virus.

The new range will include the Redmi Note 9 and Redmi Note 9 Pro, both mid-range that will differ only for some hardware components. These days, a data sheet of the Redmi Note 9 Pro has also appeared online, thanks to information published on Geekbach, a platform usually used to test the performance of new devices. The Redmi Note 9 Pro has proven to be very powerful and to have a hardware architecture ready to compete on equal terms even with more powerful devices. On board there will be 6GB of RAM and 128GB of internal storage.

Redmi Note 9 Pro: the data sheet

On the processor mounted by the Redmi Note 9 Pro there are many doubts. From the information reported on Geekbench only refers to an unidentified “Curtana”, a name mentioned in the field reserved for the data of the motherboard what could indicate the codename of the smartphone or the CPU adopted. For now, the only certain data, refers to the presence of a Qualcomm chipset equipped with an octa-core processor characterized by a basic frequency of 1.80 GHz. In support there should be 6GB of RAM and at least 128GB of internal memory.

Although there is no reference to the size of the screen, the display should have a diagonal of 6.5 inches characterized by a hole on the screen at the top left. There are four rear cameras, enclosed in a square-shaped bumper inserted centrally. The main sensor should be 64 megapixels, supported by a wide-angle lens, a telephoto lens and a ToF sensor for depth of field. Close, for now, the list of technical specifications already known, fast charging at 22.5W with 4000mAh battery.

The smartphone comes to market with MIUI 11 and Android 10 on board.

Redmi Note 9 Pro Release and Price

The presentation is set for March 12 streaming. The market release could be simultaneous or at most postponed by a few days. Many doubts regarding the arrival in Europe. If the epidemic of Coronavirus will continue to bedevil the Old Continent, the arrival of the Redmi Note 9 Pro on the market could be postponed by at least a couple of weeks. On the price there is not much information, but it should be more than 300 euros.
