The Chinese manufacturer is ready to launch another low cost smartphone but with very interesting technical features. The name is a whole program: Killer
Maybe just a few hours away from the official presentation of the new top of the range of Redmi, low cost brand (but no longer low performance) of Xiaomi that has already brought to market several smartphones from the excellent price / performance ratio. What we already know, however, is the name chosen by Redmi: K20, with the letter “K” that stands for “Killer”
And, in fact, there are many who expect that this device can “kill” many competitors from the much higher price. The latest rumors on the technical characteristics of the Redmi K20, in fact, describe a high-level smartphone and equipped with the latest technologies available including, and this is not a rumor but a fact, a triple rear camera managed by artificial intelligence algorithms. Not bad, for a “low cost” product that, among other things, will have virtually nothing to envy to the other top of the range in terms of hardware and that, indeed, could “kill” the market for flagship smartphones causing a real earthquake.
Redmi K20: technical specifications
We are certain that the rear camera of the Redmi K20 will be three lenses: the first should be 48 MP, the second should be a wide-angle 13 MP and the third a telephoto 8 MP. The front-facing camera will be pop up and probably 20 MP. From a very recent leak, we are sure that the Redmi K20 will mount a Qualcomm Snapdragon 855 SoC (the same one mounted by the OnePlus 7 Pro, to be clear), accompanied by 4-6-8 GB of RAM and 64-128-256 GB of storage. The screen, on the other hand, will be a 6.39-inch Super AMOLED, with 2,340×1,080 pixel resolution, no notch and with an integrated fingerprint sensor. The battery, finally, will be 4,000 mAh while the operating system will be Android 9 Pie.
Redmi K20: how much does it cost and when does it arrive
There is still no official date for the launch of the Redmi K20, but it should be very close. Some even speculate that it could be officially unveiled within the next 24 or 48 hours. As for prices, however, to report a leak on the Chinese social network Weibo: according to analyst Wang Dafei of Wang Consulting, the Redmi K20 will cost 259 euros in the version with 4 GB of RAM and 64 GB of storage, 285 euros in that of 6 GB and 64 GB, 310 euros for the version 6 GB and 128 GB and 340 euros for the version with 8 GB of RAM and 128 GB of storage. If these technical specifications and prices become reality, then, then the K20 will be a real killer. Incidentally, shortly after the Redmi K20 is unveiled, the K20 Pro is also expected to arrive, which at this point, we really don’t know what it can add to an already top-of-the-line device.
