Realme’s 4K TV stick is coming to Europe: how much will it cost

Realme’s 4K TV stick is ready to be distributed in Europe as well: here’s when and at what price, thanks to the confidence of a company spokesperson

The time is coming for the European debut of Realme’s long-awaited 4K TV stick, a product that is really highly anticipated due to the fact that it is the only one in the world, with the exception of the Google equivalent, that can rely on the Google TV operating system developed in Mountain View specifically to make any TV smart.

A great pride for Realme, a company still relatively small but growing fast all over the world, especially in Europe, from an initiative of the electronics giant Oppo. The company is now exploring a new market segment, that of multimedia dongles to make any TV smart (or smarter). The segment of TV sticks is rapidly expanding, so it can be for Realme a further opportunity to grow further in Europe in terms of numbers and win more and more customers. The 4K TV stick is about to debut in Europe, and in the last few hours some information about the price has arrived: here it is.

Realme’s 4K TV stick, what it looks like

Realme’s 4K TV stick is for the moment the only one in the world to be certified by Google, with the (obvious) exception of the Chromecast. That means it’s the only one made by a third party to have the Google TV operating system, so it will run a race “apart” from Amazon’s recent Fire TV 4K Max.

Realme’s 4K TV stick has a quad core CPU and dual core GPU, 2 GB of RAM and 8 GB of storage, Bluetooth 5.0 and an HDMI 2.1 output. It allows the playback of content in 4K at 60 fps, has support for HDR10+ to achieve images with more contrasting colors, as well as a remote control with buttons dedicated to the most used services (Netflix, YouTube, Amazon Prime Video and YouTube Music) and voice control capabilities provided by Google Assistant through the microphone built into the remote.

Not too widespread USB-C input for the power supply of this kind of products and although at first, judging by the images available on the network, it seemed that Realme had decided to invest something in production in order not to have to repropose again, in 2021, the microUSB standard, at the end is confirmed the cheapest connector. Cheap yes on an industrial level but not for this reason of poor quality: Realme guarantees that its 4K TV stick has passed 144 hours of high temperature tests, falls from one meter, 1,000 connections to the USB input and 50,000 presses on the buttons of the remote control without damage.

Realme’s 4K TV stick, how much it will cost

In recent hours, a company spokesperson confirmed the prices of the two variants of Realme’s 4K TV stick that will arrive in Europe: the one with 2K resolution will cost 54.99 euros, while the one capable of playing 4K content will cost 69.99 euros, exactly the same European price as the Google Chromecast with Google TV.

The goal, confirmed by Realme’s spokesperson, is to bring the 4K TV stick to the European market in December, hopefully in time for Christmas shopping.
