It may have been, perhaps, the great expectation created by the arrival of Cristiano Ronaldo at Juventus, which has forced the same Electronic Arts to revise in race its development plans. It may be that, perhaps, the parts of Sony have underestimated the launch of Fifa 19 (in beta, of course) and have not devoted enough bandwidth to the event.
Whatever the reason, since 4 pm on September 13, X time for the launch of the trial version of Fifa 19, the PlayStation Store does not work. A problem that, it seems, has been caused by the football simulator developed by the U.S. software house: the large number of download requests for Fifa 19, in fact, have quickly saturated the bandwidth of the PlayStation Store servers, making it unreachable. The first reports are of 16 hours, but with the passage of time the situation has not been improving. It’s enough to visit some forums in the sector or visit websites that record malfunctions of online services to read comments not very pleasant towards the Japanese manufacturer.
PlayStation Store doesn’t work for Fifa 19, what’s going on
Surfing on Sony’s portal dedicated to PlayStation Network problems we discover that the problems mainly concern the Store, that is the section of the network dedicated to the purchase and download of games (both in “complete” version and in trial or beta version). The last update is at 16:39 and reports that users may experience “difficulties when accessing features and products on PlayStation Store”. In the same message, the managers of the service specify that technicians are working to resolve the issues as quickly as possible, but without indicating any possible timeframe for the return to normal.
In short, if you are waiting to download the Fifa 19 beta on PlayStation 4 you just have to arm yourself with patience and wait for your turn. The PlayStation Store is down and there’s nothing you can do about it.
