The first images of the PlayStation 5 appear on the web. They were published on Twitter and show in all its “uniqueness” the new Sony console
The official presentation is still a year away, yet the PlayStation 5 continues to make people talk about it. The Sony console has long been the subject of rumors and anticipations that, well in advance, have made us know technical characteristics and price of the device.
Now, to complete a puzzle of which we already had most of the pieces, comes the first official photo of the PlayStation 5. The console appears, with a strange V shape, on Twitter, published by a user usually well informed about what happens inside the secret rooms of the manufacturer of electronic devices Japanese. The most interesting aspect of the photo, and even the most curious if you will, is the “V” shape, which confirms some rumors circulated in recent months.
How is the PlayStation 5: the photo
This weekend, @Alcoholikaust, a well-known leaker, has published on its Twitter profile what appears to be the first official photo of the PlayStation 5, or at least a prototype of the expected console. The photo is not a fake and the visible features of the console have been confirmed by journalist Tom Warren of the online magazine The Verge.
The journalist confirmed that the photo is of the PS5, but in its “SDK” version. That is, the prototypes that the Japanese company sent to developer houses and programmers to make and test their games. The Verge journalist explains how the “V” shape of the console is attributed to the optimization of the device’s cooling in addition to facilitating developers during the stress test phases that can safely place them one on top of the other.
In addition, in the incriminated photo, makes its appearance also what could be the new DualShock 5 already seen after, always online, a few weeks ago were leaked images relating to the new patent.
PlayStation 5: the characteristics
According to what stated by Mark Cerny of Sony, the new PlayStation 5 will be equipped with a new CPU and a new GPU. 3D audio, backwards compatibility and, most importantly, a solid state hard drive that promises much faster rendering and loading speeds, aimed at optimizing and making the most of next-generation graphics.
Mark Cerny also emphasized the power of the new console: if the PS4 took about 15 seconds to load a section of the Spider Man game, with the PS5 it takes less than one. Not only that, apparently, the prototype comes with cameras included, which suggests the adoption of built-in support for streaming video games made popular by platforms like Twitch, Mixer and YouTube. Obviously Sony has not released any statement on this new and unprecedented feature that would seem similar to that introduced by Microsoft in the prototypes of its latest generation console Project Scarlett.
