Poste.it and the Poste app have not been working since today morning. Users cannot access their profile and perform normal operations
Since today morning, Friday, November 15, those who have an account or a rechargeable credit card with Poste Italiane cannot access their profile. The Poste.it website and app are down and no one can carry out operations of any kind (such as online payments, for example) and, in some cases, there are also difficulties with withdrawals from the Bancoposta counter. In short, Poste.it is down and users are pouring out their frustration online.
Since the morning, in fact, there are dozens and hundreds of reports both on industry portals (such as DownDetector) and on social networks, where the social care team is busy responding to requests from users unable to check their balance, to make transactions with current account and PostePay recharges. Users, in fact, are unable to access their personal profile: the system returns incomprehensible error messages to most (a completely white screen with the message “500” or “GC01”) and, therefore, not very useful to end users.
A sort of digital Caporetto, which, however, seems to have a very precise cause. Poste Italiane’s technicians, in fact, are already working to solve the problem and it is not excluded that in the next few minutes the situation will return to normal.
What do the error messages “500” and “GC01” of Poste Italiane mean
If you wonder what the errors 500 and GC01 of Poste Italiane are, it is necessary to proceed by deduction. Poste, in fact, does not provide a “technical handbook” and users, especially those with no knowledge of computer science, are lost in the dark. Error 500, however, can be traced back to an “Error 500” message shown by the servers when they are overloaded or there is an error in their configuration file. Probable, therefore, that the Poste Italiane servers are unreachable for whatever reason and users do not have access to their personal accounts.
Poste Italiane is not working, what we know so far
To provide some indication of what is happening to the systems of Poste Italiane is the social support service, which in these minutes is trying to respond to dozens of messages that users are sending both on Facebook and Twitter. One of the operators, in particular, clarified that the problems depend on an update of the computer systems of Poste Italiane. “Hello Angela, some technical updating activities are underway, our technicians are working to make the service available again as soon as possible. We apologize for the inconvenience. For support on our services you can send us a private message on Facebook”.
At the moment, therefore, there is nothing we can do but wait for the technicians to complete the update and maintenance operations, in the hope that they will end as soon as possible.
