PlayStation 5, price and release date revealed by a source

According to an anonymous source, the PlayStation 5 will be presented in February with the official release in October. But it could be fake news

Sony could present the PlayStation 5 in a few weeks and launch it on the market in October 2020. This is what emerges from a leak appeared on 4Chan that, however, does not seem 100% credible. Indeed, it seems just a half hoax that does nothing but confirm how much interest, and how many chatters, is generating the wait for the PS5.

In the same leak also speaks of a sale price now final and some games that will be presented at the launch of the new console 2020 Sony. However, the original source of this post on 4Chan, an alleged internal memo from Sony Interactive Entertainment Europe, actually dates back to September 2019. The news has also been much discussed on Reddit, where most users believe that this is fake news also because the post on 4Chan only cites anonymous sources and has already been partly refuted with facts by Sony. Finally, from the rumor emerge technical specifications with a power of 10 TeraFLOP virtually identical to that of the Xbox Series X that, however, should cost a lot more.

PlayStation 5: price and release date according to the leak

Taking therefore with extreme caution what written by the anonymous on 4Chan, the PlayStation 5 should be officially presented by Sony (technical specifications, design and DualShock 5 controller included) in a meeting in New York on February 5, and then put on the market on October 23 at a price of $ 499, ie about 450 euros. Among the games that should be ready already at launch would be Ghost of Tsushima, Death Standing: Definitive Edition, Final Fantasy VII Remake.

Credible information?

There are many, actually the majority, who believe that the information shared anonymously on 4Chan is largely a fake or, at least, wrong. For example, the post says that, after the first presentation at the end of January, Sony will attend E3 2020 in Los Angeles in June and will make a new presentation, more detailed, called “PlayStation Showcase”. Sony, however, has in recent hours officially denied that it will be present at E3 this year. Finally, it should be remembered that until now 4Chan has never proved to be a very reliable source and, apparently, it was not even this time.
