The new devices, still not available in Italy, are creating several problems, if you turn up the volume to the maximum the speaker emits annoying distortions
Awaiting their release in Italy the new Google Pixel smartphones continue to make people talk about them. And this time not exactly in positive terms. Apparently, in fact, both Pixel and Pixel XL have a problem related to audio. If you turn the volume up to maximum you will hear an annoying croaking.
To bring attention to the problem was a Reddit user, Mark “Badmark” Buckman. Mark posted a video of his Pixel and Pixel XL demonstrating that when used with the volume at maximum both smartphones distort, and by a lot, the sound. In the video this is demonstrated using the Piano application, where each key in addition to reproducing the sound makes the speakers resonate in a mechanical way. Something that often does not occur with headphones and lower volume. Mark’s post has received several shares and many other users have expressed the same defect on their Google devices.
A common audio problem for all Pixels?
In addition to the comments of the many users who shared the same problem, the site Mashable also found the defect on one Pixel and two Pixel XL tested. The problem remained even when the smartphone was upgraded from Android Nougat version 7.1 to 7.1.1. The same tests were performed on a OnePlus 3T, running Android 6.1 Marshmallow, and an iPhone 7 running iOS 10.2, and neither reproduced the same problem. What’s more, several users who have experienced this distortion say that the problem extends to the entire audio compartment. It also happens the same with music or videos played on Chrome, YouTube or Facebook.
Google Pixel, here’s how to fix the audio issue
Mashable has heard from Google for more clarification on the matter. The company stated that it is aware of the issue and is taking care of it. It’s likely that a further update will go a long way in smoothing out or completely eliminating the audio issue on the new Pixel and Pixel XL. Italian users interested in Google smartphones hope so.
