Wiko has made official Y52, a smartphone designed to cost as little as possible. Objective fully succeeded because Wiko Y52 has a list price really bargain, hardly approachable by the competition. It is the ideal device for those who do not have too many demands or for those looking for a phone to keep spare.

Wiko has also taken the environmental factor into consideration: after the 100% recyclable packaging and the return to the removable battery, Wiko has removed the standard charger plug from the packaging. “A small eco-sustainable choice,” says the company, “that aims more and more to align itself with the needs of e-waste reduction and the direction taken by the latest directives and legislative proposals on the subject.

Wiko Y52, what it looks like

Wiko Y52 has a 5-inch TN screen with 480 x 854 pixel resolution, not very high – it is true – but still able to offer good image definition for the price range, equal to 196 pixels per inch.

Also on the front of the memories the company had to compromise with the numbers, but relying on Android 11 in Go Edition version, which is optimized specifically for phones not too powerful. So even just 1 GB of RAM and the Unisoc quad core chip SC9832E with 1.4 GHz maximum frequency should make the use of Wiko Y52 enough enjoyable for the most typical smartphone operations. The storage space counts 16 GB, but you can expand it up to an additional 64 GB thanks to microSD support.

On the back surface there is a 5-megapixel camera with LED flash, support for some image-enhancing features and the ability to record HD video at 30 frames per second. On the front surface there is a VGA camera for selfies.

The battery of Wiko Y52 is 2,020 mAh, provides up to 269 hours standby time and up to 12.8 hours of talk time (stated values) and is removable. On the connectivity front there are support for 4G LTE networks, Wi-Fi b/g/n at 2.4 GHz, Bluetooth 4.2, a micro USB input for charging and wired headphone input with 3.5 mm jack. There’s also GPS, accelerometer and of course Google apps and services.

Wiko Y52, how much does it cost and when does it arrive

It’s hard to find a smartphone on the market cheaper than the Wiko Y52, even more so if you take into account its list price and that of its competitors. The French manufacturer has announced that it will arrive on the market in the coming days in major consumer electronics stores at a price of 79.99 euros in Deep Blue and Grey colors.
