The Oppo Reno 6 range has been on sale in China for a month, official news about their landing in Europe and elsewhere is lacking. Something, however, is moving
The Oppo Reno 6 range was made official in China last month, but Oppo’s mouths have remained sealed about their marketing in Europe. The rumors, however, have immediately taken it for granted, betting on the company’s desire to give continuity to a project that in recent years has always focused on the Old Continent.
The rumors are quickly giving way to the facts: the Pro version of Oppo Reno 6 would in fact have received certification by the U.S. FCC, a practice that usually precedes the officialization on a global scale. A few weeks ago an Oppo smartphone with model code CPH2247 was spotted on several certification platforms including, moreover, the European EEC, and it is the same CPH2247 now to be passed by the magnifying glass of the FCC. The Oppo Reno 6 Pro could therefore be close to launching on a global scale, and the only real doubt left is whether the same fate will befall the Oppo Reno 6 and Oppo Reno 6 Pro+.
Oppo Reno 6 Pro “reporting” by the FCC
The FCC found that the Oppo CPH2247 would have measurements of 160.8 x 72.5 x 7.99 millimeters for 188 grams, ColorOS 11.3 and a 4,500 mAh battery with 65-watt fast charging. It should be Oppo Reno 6 Pro, although the specifications do not correspond with the one made official in China: the dimensions in fact are different.
The most quoted hypothesis is that the Oppo Reno 6 Pro+ presented in China may be renamed to Oppo Reno 6 Pro at the global launch, reading that is confirmed by the dimensions detected by the FCC if compared with those of the “Chinese” Oppo Reno 6 Pro+. So it’s possible that the smartphone with Snapdragon 870 chip could be marketed in Europe and other markets outside of China under the guise of Oppo Reno 6 Pro.
For that matter, the remaining information released by the FCC also overlaps with the specifications of Oppo Reno 6 Pro+ for sale in China. For example, the battery has the same capacity – 4,500 mAh – and can be charged at the same power of 65 watts, and the ColorOS is also in version 11.3.
The technical characteristics of Oppo Reno 6 Pro
So, if this were to be the case, the global, and therefore also European, Oppo Reno 6 Pro would be an Android smartphone based on Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 870 architecture, with a 6.55-inch AMOLED display and 90 Hz refresh rate, 8 or 12 GB of RAM, 128 or 256 GB of storage space and no less than four rear cameras in addition to the 32-megapixel front camera for selfies: a 50-megapixel main one, a 16 MP ultra wide-angle camera, a 13 MP 2x zoom telephoto lens and finally a 2 MP macro camera.
