On Clubhouse now you can send money to creators

No news yet about Clubhouse for Android, but in the meantime an important news comes on iOS: announced a first form of monetization for those who create voice chats.

Send money to creators to encourage them to produce more and more interesting and engaging content. This is the latest feature, introduced in the last few hours by Clubhouse. And so the platform dedicated to voice communication aligns itself with what has already been proposed by other social networks, focusing on the most creative users.

The new feature was presented with a post on the official blog. With the occasion, Clubhouse wanted to emphasize one of its guiding principles, namely the importance of the role of creators within the ecosystem of the social network, based on the importance of communities, linked by common interests to discuss within the many rooms on the platform. The new introduction concerns, at least at first, only a small group of creators that will then be expanded to a larger number of users once the tests have been completed, the feedback collected and the final details fine-tuned.

Clubhouse, how the money sending works

The functioning of the money sending system of Clubhouse is very simple and follows methods of the same level already in force on other social networks. The feature is present directly within the profile of the creators; if enabled, it can be found in the lower section of the screen, through the button that bears the words “Send Money”.

Once tapped on the button in question, it is possible to type the amount of money to be sent; if it is the first payment, a further step required by the platform is to register your credit or debit card by entering all its references. Once the operation is completed, the amount is completely sent to the creator, with a small additional charge for the donor related to the management costs of the transaction operated by Stripe, Clubhouse’s partner.

Clubhouse, when the feature arrives

According to what is specified in the post, the release of the feature is currently underway and, in the next few months, the sending of sums of money will be available to all users subscribed to the platform that, we remind you, is not yet available on Android. As already mentioned, for the moment only a small group of creators will be able to benefit from the payments, although the platform aims to expand the circle of interested users soon.

Clubhouse stressed that this is only the first of many features that will allow the most creative users to receive approval signals in the form of money. In fact, other forms of payment will soon be introduced to support their engagement in ways – at least for the moment – not yet specified by the voice-based platform.
