The Omni FaceShot glasses are capable of filming, and combine style, convenience, and technology with a hint of discretion
The FaceShot glasses record video from your point of view while leaving your hands free. There’s one “though” that shouldn’t be underestimated: people don’t like to be filmed without their knowledge. So Omni Wearables has decided to do everything in the “sunlight”: the camera is opened when it is in use so that it is impossible not to understand that you are recording.
Using FaceShot glasses, in short, is very simple. When the wide-angle camera with 1080p resolution at 30fps (frames per second) remains in its housing, located on the left rod, it’s off. When you want to record, simply open it – a bit like a flap – it automatically turns on and starts recording, saving the video to the built-in microSD card. Omni Wearables – the maker of FaceShot – claims that on a full charge via USB of the built-in battery, it guarantees you at least 1.5 hours of recording.
Protect your eyes from harmful rays
The camera, depending on the type of footage you want to shoot, can be oriented up or down 15 degrees. And yes, there is a microphone for sound recording and the glasses, by the way, block 99 to 100% of UV-A and UV-B rays. If you were interested in buying these glasses, know that they are currently the subject of a campaign on Kickstarter. Their current cost is $199, but then – at the end of the crowdfunding operation – their price will rise to $299.
