New confirmations about Google Pixel 6: it will be the perfect Android smartphone

Just a few days before the launch, here is yet another leak that reveals the latest interesting aspects of Google Pixel 6 and Pixel 6 Pro that we didn’t know yet

It’s been years that Google has been trying to promote on its smartphones an approach similar to Apple’s with iPhones, something that sounds like “software experience matters more than technical specifications”. Google has zigzagged along, occasionally unveiling near-top-of-the-line flagships like the Pixel 4 and mid-range flagships like the Pixel 5.

Same name, different positioning. This year, however, with the Pixel 6 and Pixel 6 Pro Google seems to have broken the mold: the two will be smartphones that will try to offer an unparalleled software experience but with a hardware from the top of the class. An almost radical change that has been triggered by the first chip developed in house by Google, the Tensor that will find place on both Pixel 6 and Pixel 6 Pro. And although the two are very close to the presentation – will take place on October 19, it is official – a huge leak in recent hours has ended up almost totally reassembling the picture around the two top of Mountain View.

Great attention to photography on Pixel 6

To be finished on the network is the press material that anticipates almost every aspect of Google Pixel 6 and Pixel 6 Pro. Great attention paid by Google, as usual, to the photography on smartphones: there is a function that the user can use to remove unwanted objects from the photos, one to blur faces and is advertised the ability of the new smartphones to capture skin tones to offer subjects more faithful to reality.

All made possible by the software processing of Pixel Camera (currently called, simply, Google Camera) and the contribution of a 50-megapixel main camera, probably, as we said, a Samsung GN1 sensor.

The Google Pixel 6 will make a big step forward on the speed of charging: if until now has not gone beyond 18 watts, now you will be able to reach 30 watts, while wireless charging will take place at a maximum power of 23 and 21 watts for Pixel 6 Pro and Pixel 6 “standard”, but only if to charge is the official accessory Google Pixel Stand. You’ll have to choose whether to buy it or opt for the 30-watt USB-C fast charger, which however will not be included.

Google promises 5 years of updates

From the press material that escaped Google we learn about the use of Gorilla Glass Victus protective glass and IP68 certification against dust and liquids. It seems that only the Google Pixel 6 Pro will have a high refresh rate display, varying between 10 and 120 Hz (just like iPhone 13 Pro and 13 Pro Max), while those who will buy Pixel 6 “standard” will have to settle for the “classic” 60 Hz. There will also be unlocking with the face.

Among the software features of the new Pixel escaped Google are real-time translation, and updates that Google guarantees for “at least 5 years”, although it is not clear if it is the new versions of Android or part of the 5 years will be only for security patches. The increase will be guaranteed by the adoption of a chip like the new Tensor that Google has full control over.
