Xiaomi announces the arrival of the new smart band in the global market. It is a rebrand of the Redmi Band. Here are the specifications
The Chinese brand Xiaomi in recent times is particularly busy in the presentation of new devices designed for the global market: from smartphones, wearable devices, up to electric scooters. In short, it seems that it wants to conquer different sectors related to innovation and new technologies. Many products share an important feature, namely the excellent quality/price ratio.
After several rumors, the company has finally officially presented the new activity tracker called Mi Band 4C, announcing that it will be waterproof. In fact, it has a water resistance of 5ATM (which corresponds to 50 meters). The device was presented in Malaysia and described as a product that combines important innovative features with an economical price. But looking at it well, other than that it is the rebrand for the global market of Redmi Band, which in this way debuts outside the Chinese market. Let’s review its features.
Features of Mi Band 4C
The activity tracker was born for the lower-middle market, so it is characterized by a very advantageous price but still has interesting features and specifications for those who want to approach this world with an object from good value for money. Let’s start with the clean and dry design, revealing right away that it is dominated by a square and color 1.08-inch LCD touch display, with a brightness that can reach 200 nits.
The screen connects to straps available in black, blue, green and orange. It is very light and comfortable to use, weighing only 13 grams. The 130 mAh battery has a battery life of 14 days and can be recharged via USB-A port using the included power supply, which you can also connect to your laptop or PC.
Features include the 24-hour heart rate monitor, with PPG sensor to detect the heart rate. It has pedometer, reminder to move (useful if you lead a sedentary life), 3-axis accelerometer, and sleep monitoring. In addition, thanks to the integration with the app you can have the update of incoming messages, calls and other notifications on your smartphone. It also has Bluetooth 5.0 LE that allows you to connect it to Apple and Android devices. The sports app has five programs: running, exercise, treadmill, brisk walking and cycling.
The features are great for those who want to monitor physical activity, although it doesn’t have built-in GPS or a feature that’s now very much in vogue, namely the NFC module. It can also be used by those who practice water sports, because it withstands up to 5 ATM, or 50 meters.
Price of Xiaomi Mi Band 4C: how much does it cost
The device for the moment is available in some Asian markets, but is preparing to arrive in many European countries. The price in Hong Kong and Taiwan corresponds to about 15 euros. We just have to wait for its launch in Italy, on the other hand it is a different product from Mi Band 5, intended for a lower-end audience. Of course, even for the release date we will have to wait for official news.
