MediaTek is back on the technology scene stronger than ever. The credit goes to the goodness of the Dimensity line of chips, which step by step have allowed the Taiwanese company to climb the world leadership. Smartphones with MediaTek chips are more and more numerous, and probably the Dimensity 7000 will make them even more popular.
The Dimensity 7000 is not yet official, but it should be in a short time. To see it on the market instead we will have to be patient until 2022, but judging from the rumors the game should be worth the candle. The chip range of MediaTek bodes well for the future: there is the recent Dimensity 9000, intended to compete with the fearsome Snapdragon 898, then the Dimensity 7000 of medium-high range, the Kompanio 900T in September for tablets, and the Pentronic 2000 developed to equip high-end Smart TVs. MediaTek Dimensity 7000 made at 5 nanometers
According to the latest rumors, the Dimensity 7000 by MediaTek is currently in the testing phase, so its debut should be a matter of little time. This is a chip made in TSMC foundries at 5 nanometers, a manufacturing process that until the Dimensity 9000 debuted – at 4 nanometers – was the most advanced on the market. Now it is no more, but it will make the Dimensity 7000 one of the most efficient chips on the market, especially if compared to the mid-range market.
With the “big brother” the Dimensity 7000 will share the V9 architecture, the latest made available by Arm. Impossible for the moment to have performance comparisons, since there is no information on the operating frequency of the MediaTek Dimensity 7000, but there is already good news: it seems that it will offer support for fast charging up to 75 watts, a respectable power for the mid-range.

If on the one hand, as mentioned, the Taiwanese company’s best chip, the Dimensity 9000 is already official and ready to equip the first smartphones in the first quarter of 2022, for the mid-range Dimensity 7000 the time would be just longer. Probably due to the crisis of the components, MediaTek has been called to choose which of the two projects to give priority, and understandably would be chosen to favor the top of the range Dimensity 9000.
According to rumors, the Dimensity 7000 will not be presented before the end of 2021, and in any case we must wait until the new year to have on the market the first smartphones “powered” by the new mid-range chip of the Taiwanese company, one of which will be, according to rumors, the powerful Redmi K50 Gaming.
