Magic Candy Factory, the 3D printer for making candy

Not only pasta, pizza and chocolate. With the Magic Candy Factory, you can print gummy candies, choosing the shape and flavor of your choice

The future of food production (the packaged kind, of course) also depends on 3D printing is a well-known fact. From pizza to pasta to chocolate, there are countless attempts to make meals and foods using 3D printers made specifically for the purpose.

The latest innovation in 3D printed food is the Magic Candy Factory, a 3D printer designed and built to make gummy candy just the way you want it. Conceived by Katjes, a German company specialized in the production of candies and other sweets, the printer is available in some stores in Germany, the United States, Dubai and Ireland, but it is not excluded that soon it could be “exported” to the rest of the world. 3D printing candy, as we will see in a moment, is very simple and users can imagine living, even if only for a few minutes, inside Willy Wonka’s factory.

How to make candy with Magic Candy Factory

The operation of the 3D printer is as simple as immediate. Creating a candy takes just five minutes, and the entire process can be managed and controlled from a smartphone or tablet using the app. Users can choose from the shapes already in the app’s store (over 7,000 models available), or create a gummy candy in the shape of their choice using their imagination. Also on the side of the flavors, users will be able to indulge themselves as they wish, choosing from eight different flavors ready for use.

The material used for printing is made so that everyone can eat the homemade gummy candy. The raw materials are vegan and gluten-free, made from fruits and vegetables. The cost of each personalized candy is about 17 euros and can be either picked up in participating stores, or ordered on the online store with shipping to your home.
