By 2021 we will see on Netflix the new Italian TV series produced by Fandango. Starring Simona Tabasco and Lia Grieco. Here are the details.
After the great success of the series Zero, Netflix is preparing to welcome a new Italian TV series produced by Fandango. Its title is Luna Park and is set in the Rome amusement park that became famous in the 1960s. The show is created by Isabella Aguilar, who previously worked for Baby and stars Simona Tabasco (DOC) and Lia Grieco.
The platform has announced the series’ debut by 2021 in Italy and in all countries around the world where the service is active. It will be an all-Italian drama, where deeply different families and generations will meet. Between a merry-go-round and an explosion of lights, the viewer will enjoy a real show where intrigue, love affairs and secrets will alternate. In the background there will be a fascinating capital, immersed in what was one of its most prosperous periods, the Dolce Vita.
Luna Park: plot of the TV series
The TV series is divided into 6 episodes, created and written by Isabella Aguilar and is directed by Anna Negri (Baby) and Leonardo D’Agostini, who received the Silver Ribbon as best first-time director for the film Il Campione available on Netflix.
Luna Park tells the story of the magical encounter between Nora and Rosa, a carny and a high society girl. The two, apparently have nothing in common, but soon discover that they are connected and build an important friendship.
The members of their respective families are also involved, that of the Marini family, of which Nora is a part, and the Gabrielli family, of which Rosa is a part.
Tv series Luna Park: the cast
Simona Tabasco plays the role of Nora and, as already mentioned is part of a large family, which we will get to know in the series. Her father’s name is Antonio, and he is played by Tommaso Ragno (Baby).
The cast also includes Milvia Marigliano (Loro 2) who plays her grandmother Miranda, Mario Sgueglia (Summertime) who plays Uncle Ettore and Ludovica Martino (Sotto il sole di Riccione and Skam Italia) as her mother Stella.
The Gabrielli family is that of Rosa, played by Lia Grieco. The family includes Guglielmo Poggi (Smetto quando voglio) as her brother Giggi, Paolo Calabresi (I Viceré, La corrispondenza, Boris) as her father Tullio and Fabrizia Sacchi (La prima cosa bella) as her mother Lucia.
In addition to the stories of the two protagonist families, there are also those of the Baldi, another family composed of Lando, played by Michele Bevilacqua (Don Matteo); Doriana, played by Lorenza Indovina (Qualunquemente); and their sons Matteo and Simone, played by Edoardo Coen and Alessio Lapice (Il Primo Re).
In the all-Italian cast, we also find Giulio Corso (Il paradiso delle signore), Matteo Olivetti, Alessandra Carrillo (Un cielo stellato sopra il ghetto di Roma), Gianfranco Gallo (Gomorra: La serie), Davide Valle, Roberto Evangelista, Giulia Ricciardi (Medicina generale), Lidia Vitale (Romolo + Giuly) and Ilaria Loriga.
In short, many well-known faces already seen in the most successful TV series but also new interpreters of the Italian scene. All that remains is to wait for more official news and the arrival on the Netflix platform by 2021.
