Lucifer 5, confirmed the release date and comes the first official trailer

Netflix releases the official video trailer of the fifth season of Lucifer giving huge clues about the plot and the evolution of the characters

Lucifer is officially back, but he looks different, so much so that his companions and especially his beloved Chloe are suspicious. These few clues are enough to raise the public’s anticipation, already sky high. Fortunately, it will not take long to know what will happen in the fifth season: Netflix has released the first official trailer and confirmed the release date, August 21, 2020.

One thing is for sure: we will be able to see Tom Ellis again. The actor who plays the protagonist of the series seems to have gotten bored with the role, but together with the production came to an agreement and decided to confirm his presence for both the fifth and the sixth and final season of the acclaimed TV series. So the hardcore fans can rest assured: after Lucifer 5 there will be a new and final cycle of episodes not to be missed. In the meantime, the trailer reveals some aspects of the character and the plot.

Netflix announces the arrival of Lucifer 5

Lucifer is a troubled TV series, which has undergone several changes over time. Think for example to the cancellation of the third season by FOX and the takeover of Netflix that bought the rights and took the reins of the subsequent episodes, those that make up the fourth, fifth and sixth season.

Now the streaming platform has finally released the trailer introducing it as follows: “Lucifer is back and he’s acting… weird. Get ready: this season all your wishes will be granted!” These few words were enough to make the curiosity grow in the audience. On the other hand, there are now many fans fond of the events of Lucifer Morningstar and other characters of the TV series.

What the trailer of Lucifer 5 reveals

The trailer of Lucifer 5 gives us important clues about the evolution of the plot. In the final episode of the previous season we saw the farewell kiss between Chloe (Laura German) and Morningstar, so many wondered what would happen in the following season: would we see the return of the protagonist? Would a new figure replace him? And in what way?

The video trailer reveals so much. The protagonist is always him, who returns before the astonished eyes of everyone, from Chloe to Mazikeen (Lesley-Ann Brandt) to her brother Amanadiel (David Bryan Woodside). But it is a different Lucifer, unscrupulous and more powerful than the previous one.

He himself in the trailer calls himself the Lucifer 2.0 but soon it is revealed that it is actually his twin brother, Michael, intent not to destroy the life of his brother but to take it completely, replacing his brother even in the love affair with Chloe. In the last scenes of the trailer, however, you can see the fight between the two twins, so the real Lucifer will return to Earth to resolve the situation and win everyone back. In short, the plot of the TV series gets more and more intricate and full of details.

Lucifer 5 will feature 16 episodes (they will be released in two parts) of about 50 minutes each and can be seen by all Netflix subscribers. The first part will be released on August 21, 2020, while the second part will have to wait a while.
