Louis Vuitton launches AirPods rival: here’s how much it costs

Compatible with the Bluetooth 4.2 standard, they allow you to control your smartphone thanks to Siri and Google Assistant. Their cost, however, isn’t for everyone

There’s a new rival in the (already pretty crowded) wireless earbud industry. And it’s a rival as unexpected as it is cumbersome. Louis Vuitton, the global fashion giant has launched (a bit underwhelming, to tell the truth) its pair of wireless headphones to sync via Bluetooth to your smartphone, PC or mp3 player.

They are the Louis Vuitton Horizon Monogram and are proposed from the launch as the luxury alternative to Apple AirPods. Characterized by a sophisticated design and at the same time simple and straightforward, the wireless earphones of the famous French fashion brand are obviously aimed at a niche. While on the market appear more and more economic Bluetooth headphones, or at least characterized by the excellent value for money, the Horizon Monogram aim decidedly to an exclusive clientele. Although the characteristics of all respect, the list price is quite high: the headphones Louis Vuitton Horizon Monogram cost 950 euros.

Louis Vuitton Horizon Monogram, technical characteristics

The Horizon Monogram weighs 9 grams each, more than double the Apple AirPods, which stop at just 4 grams. Inside are a 10-millimeter beryllium driver, for clear and deep sounds, and a battery that provides a battery life of 3 and a half hours. Thanks to fast charging, the headphones charge 50% in 40 minutes, while a full charge takes 90 minutes.

Compatible with Siri and Google Assistant, Louis Vuitton’s Bluetooth headsets allow you to control the smartphone with which they are synchronized through simple voice commands. They have an omnidirectional microphone, buttons to raise and lower the volume and to answer incoming calls on the smartphone, and are equipped with proximity sensors, which allow you to automatically mute playback as soon as we remove the earbuds from our ears.

Not missing, of course, the protective case that also serves as a “supplementary” battery. This allows you to fully charge the batteries of the wireless headphones for two more times, making the autonomy of the Louis Vuitton Horizon Monogram up to 10 hours of continuous playback.
