Coming in 2021 is the first docu-series, in four episodes, based on the book of Pope Francis. And he’ll be there.
The year 2021 will be a time of rebirth after a difficult year. Netflix really seems to be trying hard to overcome the difficulties and welcome the future in the best possible way. And it will do so also thanks to several TV series capable of inspiring users and offering interesting food for thought.
In this regard, among the most anticipated content of 2021 stands out the TV series inspired by Pope Francis’ book, edited by Father Antonio Spadaro and titled Sharing of the Wisdom of Time. The show will survey a group of men and women over 70 from different parts of the world, who will tell their stories to as many filmmakers under 30. The goal is therefore to show the dialogue between generations, an exchange of perspectives and views that can only enrich the Netflix audience. The streaming platform is already working on the program that should be out in a few months.
The Wisdom of Time: what the new series will be about
It will be a small docu-series of four episodes, where it will be shown a sincere and exciting confrontation between distant generations: on one side the over 70s, on the other the under 30s.
The goal will be to rediscover that adults, the elderly are a treasure to be treasured. With their stories, their tales and their points of view, they can enrich the lives of each of us, and especially those of the younger generations.
The women and men interviewed will talk about their life experiences. They will come from every part of the world, precisely because the intention is to embrace all the peoples, religions and cultures of the planet. They will also talk about important topics: love, dreams, but also their work or the role of the family.
Pope Francis will also participate
Pope Francis will give his precious contribution. He will offer his testimony as a man, guardian of an age considered precious and rich in value. He will be the guiding thread of the four episodes and will make the encounter between the different generations even more interesting and suggestive.
In fact, the series is inspired by the basic idea of his book, where we read: “The elderly have wisdom. They have been entrusted with the task of transmitting the experience of life, the history of a family, of a community, of a people.”
The book, published in Italy by Marsilio, came out in 2018 and was a huge success, also thanks to its important message about the value of time. It has also won numerous international awards: from the Catholic Press Association Book Awards, to the Living Now Book Awards, to the Best Book Awards.
Pope Francis will therefore be the protagonist together with the group of over 70s and will be able, once again, to inspire the audience with his presence and his dialectical ability. After all, he has repeatedly demonstrated his empathy and communication skills.
The series will be streamed on Netflix in 2021. It is curated by Simona Ercolani and produced by Stand By Me – partner of Asacha Media Group.
