Apple is working so that the iPhone of 2021 will be without Lightning port. Wireless technology will be used to charge the device
The iPhone will not adopt the USB Type C port, but will remain faithful to the Lightning output, at least for 2020. For the future, however, is considering an iPhone without ports and, perhaps, even without keys. These are the latest rumors that come from insiders always very informed about the world of Apple and iPhone news. The Cupertino company is working to launch in September the new four models of iPhone 12, but is already focused on 2021, the year in which there should be a generational leap.
Apple seems intent on launching an iPhone without ports: no output to connect the charger or headphones. Everything is done via wireless technology. For the world of smartphones would be a real shock: at the moment only the top of the range smartphones support wireless charging, but always in co-presence with the “cable”. Apple, however, wants to eliminate the Lightning port to increase the space dedicated to the battery and other components of the device, which are now increasingly large and need space.
iPhone 2021: the revolution
A revolution in design, but also in features and functionality. So will be the iPhone 13 (will it really be called so?), the smartphone that Apple will launch in 2021. The news does not come from the Cupertino company, but from the usual insiders who anticipate the features of the applephone. On Twitter, the account 9TechEleven wrote that Apple is working on a smartphone port-less (portless in Italian), which will be launched in the coming years. To this tweet replied Jon Prosser, a journalist who became famous in recent days for anticipating almost all the features of the iPhone 12, saying that the smartphone of the “future” will be launched in 2021. And that Apple will never use the USB Type C port on the iPhone, which it did for the iPad.
How the iPhone 2021 will look
By eliminating the Lightning port, Apple will have more freedom to change the appearance of its device. After years of apparent immobility, the Cupertino company could bring a real innovation, as it did years ago with the iPhone X, later copied by all major competitors. Making predictions about the internal components a couple of months before launch is complicated, but the certainty is that it will be a true top of the line, with an improved photo compartment.
