IPhone 8, 5 reasons why they could have called it iPhone 7s

Cupertino’s new smartphone has disappointed with some of the same or poorly updated technical features when compared to those of its predecessor iPhone 7

The new iPhone 8 has been among the most anticipated smartphones in recent years. Yet, despite many true top-of-the-line features, some users are complaining about too much similarity with the previous iPhone 7. So much so that we can say that there are five reasons to call it iPhone 7s and not iPhone 8.

Let’s start with the design. Apple had announced a real revolution with the new iPhone 8. However, the changes were minimal compared to expectations. Indeed, if we exclude the rear glass body, the style of the new Cupertino’s smartphone is very similar to the lines created by the U.S. company for the iPhone 6 and then confirmed on the iPhone 7. Some users then complained about the gold-colored version. With a shade that tends very pink as already on the iPhone 7. The device with this coloration, despite the polished glass body, loses a bit in elegance. But this depends a lot on the subjective taste of the user.

Slow wireless charging

Wireless charging is one of the flagship features of the new Apple smartphone. But even for this feature there is no shortage of criticism. If we have an important commitment or we are expected to go out to dinner then we avoid using wireless charging. Why? Because it is extremely slower than using the charger. Currently you only get 7% in 25 minutes. Apple has promised that they will remedy this problem soon but for now, wireless charging cannot satisfy users. The bad news is that the charger supplied is always the same 5W, if we think that the iPad has instead a 12W one. That’s why even the classic charging on iPhone 8 has not been improved or made faster.

New portrait mode

The new portrait mode on iPhone 8 was supposed to surprise and instead for the moment has left more than a few doubts. The camera software doesn’t look all that different than the shots you can get with an iPhone 7. And also it must be said that for now, pending updates, photos with too much lighting tend not to come out perfect due to excessive blurring in the edges of the main subjects.

Speakers

During the presentation of the new iPhone 8 Apple claimed that the new smartphone speakers were 25% more powerful than previous models. Doing a sound quality test this turns out to be true but in general the playback quality, especially in closed environments such as an office or home, is very similar to the human ear compared to the iPhone7. In short, it’s not a feature that can make a difference as expected.

Touch ID

Touch ID, or the fingerprint scanner to be used as a security system, was a great feature introduced with iPhone 6. Users were expecting something more on iPhone 8 and instead theĀ Face ID was introduced only for iPhone X. In short, this is another element that brings the iPhone 8 even closer to being a sort of iPhone 7s rather than a truly new model.
