The Huawei Brand

Huawei is a leading Chinese technology company engaged in the development, manufacture, and marketing of electronic devices, networking systems and solutions, and telecommunications. Since its inception in the late 1980s, the Chinese giant has earned a place of honor in the field of technological research and development, distinguishing itself with its products for high performance and top quality services. The brand is most famous for the production of cell phones based on the “EMUI” operating system, which is also shared with Honor devices.

As of 2018, the Shenzhen company has established itself as the second largest smartphone manufacturer in the world (considering also those marketed under the Honor brand), coming to compete with giants Samsung and Apple. Thanks to its commitment to research and technological development, in which the company invests more than 10% of its annual turnover for a total of almost 50 billion dollars in the last decade, Huawei was the first Chinese company ever to enter the ranking of the ‘Top 100 Best Global Brands’ compiled by Interbrand.

How to take a screenshot with Huawei

Huawei smartphones feature great performance and include useful features that allow you to capture the screen in any app, edit captured screenshots, and take snapshots of entire Web pages. Being able to capture your device’s screen is a simple and immediate way to save content of any kind, so that you always have it available in your phone’s gallery and can quickly share it with your contacts. There are several ways to get a screen capture of your Huawei phone.

Key combination

The easiest way to get a screenshot on any Android or EMUI device is to use the Volume Down + Power key combination. To take a screenshot of your phone’s screen, open the content you want to save, press the two keys simultaneously and hold them down for a few seconds until you hear the sound of the photo being taken or a slight vibration, at which point you will see a preview of the screenshot you just took appear on your screen.

Capture via gestures

Some Huawei models, usually the top of the range ones, are equipped with Knuckle Sense technology that allows you to take a screenshot with a simple touch of your hand. To enable gesture capture, you’ll need to go to your phone’s Settings menu, and in the Smart section set the gesture capture option to ON. This way you’ll only need to knock twice on the screen with a knuckle to take a screenshot.

Since the most recent updates you can also get a scrolling screenshot, that is, capture the content of entire documents or websites that span multiple pages. The method is the same, and once you get the still image all you have to do is click the “Scrolling screenshot” command that will appear at the bottom right of your device. To stop capturing before the end of the page, you can click anywhere on the screen.

Edit and share screenshots with Huawei

After getting a still image with any of the methods shown in this article, you will see a screenshot preview appear on your phone. Clicking on it will open a menu that will allow you to immediately share the photo on social networks or other apps installed on your phone, as well as edit the image, such as inserting arrows or freehand drawings, censoring sensitive details or cropping the area of interest.

You can also edit screenshots taken previously and already present in the device’s camera roll. To do this, just open the gallery, select the photo you want to edit and click on the Edit button that appears in the bottom right corner. Once you’re done, you can save the edited screenshot in the gallery by clicking the save icon in the top right corner, or share it online and in other apps.
