Instagram is updating its algorithms to eliminate the 15-second limit for videos published in Stories, here’s how to use the new feature
Until now, if you wanted to publish Instagram Stories lasting more than 15 seconds you were forced to resort to tricks that could, in some way, to “overcome” the limits imposed by the social platform owned by Facebook.
Lately, however, more and more users have started using the feature to publish events or live shows, and that’s why Instagram has decided to lengthen the maximum limit of seconds dedicated to videos in Stories. In this way it will be easier and immdiate to share Stories more “full-bodied” and not necessarily limited to a handful of seconds. As we’ll see in a moment, the whole operation will take very few seconds and won’t force the user to learn new procedures. Compared to the past, in fact, the Stories will continue to work always in the same way, both when publishing and when “consuming” the Story.
How to make a Story without time limits
As we have already mentioned, there are no particular operations to do to publish a video in Stories without time limits. All you’ll have to do is create a new Story and hold down the record button as long as you want. Even though the recording will be unlimited, this doesn’t mean that only one Story will be created: the length of the published Stories will always be 15 seconds. This means that if you make a 52-second video, 4 Stories will be created, the last of which will be just 7 seconds long.
Obviously, the longer the movie is, the longer it will take to load, and the greater the consumption of data traffic. An aspect that should not be forgotten or underestimated. It should be remembered that our story with no time limit will still be published in different segments so as not to make sharing too heavy. Basically, our followers will see our story divided into some parts that they can still comfortably continue to watch without any particular interruptions.
The new feature of Unlimited Stories on Instagram has been released in both the iOS version of the social media and the Android version. You may happen to not see this new Stories feature on your smartphone because Instagram is doing a gradual release on the various accounts. To make sure you receive the new feature for videos in Stories the advice is as always to go to the App Store or Google Play Store and update your Instagram app.
