Now you can invite up to three people to participate in your live broadcasts on Instagram: a feature that will make creators and influencers happy.
A new feature coming to Instagram: it’s called Live Rooms and it allows you to make live broadcasts in small groups of creators, or up to four users. Thus, the opportunities for those who use the application’s live broadcasts to communicate with their fans are growing.
The introduction of live broadcasts proved particularly effective for creators, especially during the most stringent months of the pandemic. There were many concerts, shows, question and answer sessions and other forms of interaction between the organizers and their group of followers, contributing to the growth of the audience of viewers of this particular form of communication. The feature doubles the possibilities of engagement, in line with the platform’s desire to offer new monetization tools to the most active creators. So here it is, with Live Rooms, the opportunity to buy badges to support the organizer, take advantage of the Shopping feature or make fundraising directly during the live.
Instagram Live Rooms, how it works
To create a Live Room and start the live broadcast you need to open the application and swipe left on the home screen. Among the commands that appear, you can select the Live Camera option. In the menu that appears on the screen, simply enter the name of the Room you are creating in the dedicated field and add the participants from those who have sent a request; in case they are not yet present, you can select them from the list and send an invitation for the session.
Once this step is completed, you can finally start the live broadcast, as usual, open to all followers. In the screen, the organizer will always appear in the top box while the other participants, once added, will fill the other available spaces on the screen. It is not necessary to be already four from the beginning: in fact, Instagram Live Rooms allows you to add participants even later.
Intelligent, even in this case, is the notification system implemented by Instagram that aims to increase the reach of live broadcasts. In fact, replicating and amplifying what already happens for live sessions, the platform sends a notification of the start of the broadcast to both those who follow the organizer and the other three participants in the streaming, for a potentially much larger audience.
A feature, the latter, that goes to the aid of aspiring influencers who will be able to join forces to multiply their audience.
Instagram Live Rooms, so the app protects security
In order to ensure the safety of all participants, Instagram has chosen to prevent access to Live Rooms to all users previously blocked by the creator of the event and its guests. The same applies to those who, due to violations of the platform’s policies, have had their permissions to live broadcasts revoked.
In addition, during the broadcasts, the organizer can proceed at any time with the blocking and reporting of comments that flow on the video. This is complemented by the ability to activate word filters to prevent offensive phrases or terms from appearing during live streaming.
